Shaw says Officer LaValley confronted Cannon to arrest him on a previous second degree murder warrant when he was shot multiple times. Cannon is now wanted for first degree murder.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested 23-year-old Kaleb Clement of Paulina after he allegedly drove through two fences and on to the runway at Louis Armstrong airport in New Orleans. Colonel John Fortunato says luckily there were no planes on the tarmac during the incident, otherwise this could’ve ended much worse…

Clement is charged with one count of hit and run driving and one count of driving while intoxicated.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office says a Lake Charles man faces charges in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian. They say 27-year-old Jeremy Daniels was walking on the side of the road when he was struck and killed by a truck driven by 19-year-old Grant Henning. Henning, who fled the scene without rendering aid, is charged with felony hit-and-run.

Shreveport Police say they believe they know the identity of the gunman who killed a Shreveport police officer last night. A department spokesperson says the officer was responding to a call about an armed, suspicious person threatening people inside a home when the suspect opened fire, hitting the officer several times. The officer was pronounced dead at a local hospital. A manhunt for the suspect is ongoing.

The Louisiana AARP is hosting a forum today in Baton Rouge but one gubernatorial candidate will not be attending. Scott Carwile has more….

In Shreveport, a manhunt is underway for a man who is believed to have fatally shot a Shreveport Police Officer last night. A police department spokesperson says the officer was responding to a call about a suspicious person threatening people inside a home when the suspect opened fire, hitting one officer multiple times. The officer was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities believe they know the identity of the shooter.

The Louisiana Department of Education announces that high school students in the state earned more than 13-hundred more qualifying scores on Advanced Placement exams in 2015 than 2014. Superintendent John White says this is an 89 percent increase in scores from 2012.

A Shreveport Police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty last night. A police department spokesperson says the officer was responding to a call about a prowler suspect when someone opened fire. The officer was hit several time. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities believe they know the identity of the suspect and are searching for the gunman.

Governor Bobby Jindal is preparing to participate in today’s debate involving the second tier Republican Presidential candidates. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Jindal can’t compete with the front-runners right now so he is spending a lot of time in Iowa. Jefferson Parish Deputies they found the abandoned blue Challenger on the runway just after 1pm this afternoon, but did eventually find twenty-three years old Kaleb Clement, and booked him with hit and run driving and DWI.

A judge in Illinois has found a 58-year-old Saints fan guilty of shoving Chicago Bears chairman George McCaskey to the ground last December. Richard Kohnke of New Orleans was found guilty of a misdemeanor charge of battery and sentenced to six months of court supervision. Kohnke was sitting in McCaskey’s seats during last year’s Bears-Saints game at Soldier Field and Kohnke ended up pushing McCaskey to the ground.
