Constitutional Amendment 2 has passed, so beginning with arrests in 2019 an unanimous jury decision will be needed for a conviction in felony cases, instead of the current standard of 10 of 12 jurors.  Loyola University Law Professor Dane Ciolino says there will still be trials that will take place under the old system after Amendment 2 becomes law.

Public Affairs Research Council President Robert Scott says if you live in a parish that shot down the idea, then you’ll likely be frozen out of online services, but the answer isn’t quite that simple.

And in other election news, all six Louisiana incumbent Congressmen won reelection last night by healthy margins. The only race that was somewhat close was in the 3^rd district, where Clay Higgins grabbed 55 percent of the vote, avoiding a run-off that would have been scheduled for December.

The Saints have a new face in the receiving core: former Cowboy Pro Bowler Dez Bryant. The outspoken wide out has been without a team since his release this summer, but dropped by New Orleans yesterday for a try out that apparently went pretty well. He’ll join Mike Thomas and rookie Trequan Smith in a receiving core that’s lacked depth this year.

Election night saw the Democrats gain control of the U-S House of Representatives, while Republicans increased their majority in the Senate. Political Analyst Clancy Dubos says the Blue Wave that vaulted the Democrats into control in the House, could benefit New Orleans Congressman Cedric Richmond….

On a 64-36-percent vote, Louisiana voters approved Constitutional Amendment Two, which means starting in 2019, it will take an unanimous jury verdict to convict a person accused of a serious felony. All six constitutional amendments passed last night.
