Authorities say Wiltz was charged with illegal use of weapons, illegal possession of narcotics, and obstruction of justice.

Alexandria Police have arrested 25-year-old Mohammed Abudayeh of Alexandria, for attempted first-degree feticide and criminal conspiracy to commit feticide.  Cpl. Wade Bourgeois says it appears the suspect hired someone in an effort to try to stage a credible looking attack on his girlfriend.

LSU head basketball coach Will Wade has been suspended by LSU in the wake of reports of an FBI wiretap involving his activities in a college basketball corruption scandal, specifically his actions in recruiting Javonte Smart. Tiger Rag Assistant Editor Tyler Nunez says it’s clear the school is taking no chances, particularly with the FBI involved.

Wade has been subpoenaed for a corruption trail in April.

The accusations against Wade are on the recruiting side, but Nunez says interim head coach Tony Benford now has to deal with the dark cloud over the remainder of the season, and figure out how to adjust in time for the SEC tournament, and the NCAA tournament shortly afterwards.

The Tigers are the 10th ranked team in the nation, and riding their best season in a decade, featuring exhilarating wins over Kentucky and Tennessee.

The Purple and Gold won’t have much time to adjust, with a game against Vanderbilt set for 730 Saturday night. Nunez says the players will have to put that aside and play a game with major significance.

Wade Bourgeois says the suspect allegedly wanted a staged attack focusing on his girlfriend’s stomach.

LSU head basketball coach Will Wade has been suspended from the team following recent reports of an FBI wiretap. LSU President F. King Alexander and Athletics Director Joe Alleva released the following joint statement.

“Recent media reports regarding Coach Will Wade are without question concerning to all of us. As such, we and university officials have taken deliberate and purposeful steps to fairly assess and adequately address this situation. As we have done since media reports first surfaced months ago, we are closely coordinating with the NCAA with every step. They have our full cooperation and we will continue to report to them all facts and information on this matter.”

Lopinto says although it is not his call, he is in favor of the death penalty following the gruesome nature of the crime.

The details of the Jefferson Parish triple homicide that left two children and a mother dead, along with two other severely injured have come to light. Sheriff Joe Lopinto says the suspect 33-year-old Terrance Leonard admitted to killing the two children and injuring the others with a hammer.
The suspect led the investigators to the hammer that had been hidden in a garbage can. Lopinto says the suspect was the boyfriend of the adult victim, 32-year-old Kristina Riley.

Twenty horses used in Mardi Gras parades this year have found new homes following a volunteer effort by the Human Society of Louisiana. Humane Society Director Jeff Dorson says the rescued horses are becoming stars.
