The Louisiana Convenience and Vape Store Association is challenging a new law that requires products to be on an approved list in order to be sold in Louisiana. They say it’s unconstitutional. Covington Representative Paul Hollis, who pushed for the vape legislation, says he doesn’t think the lawsuit will be a success since the vape products not on the registry are also not FDA approved.

I-55 Should be open in both directions sometime next week but DOTD says there will be a complete shutdown of both lanes of I-55 Southbound near Ponchatoula on Sunday morning around 6 AM. Drivers will need to detour at exit 22 but can rejoin the interstate at Ruddock. Northbound I-55 remains closed until complete barrier rail repair and road striping is completed. All lanes in both directions are expected to be open sometime next week.

Ginger Guttner with LSU School of Veterinary Medicine says nearly 50 percent of dogs over age 10 will develop cancer.  She urges pet owners to keep an eye out for warning signs.

Other possible signs of cancer include enlarged or changing lumps and rapid weight loss.

The Natchitoches Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in the March murder of Mark Hailey owner of Fat Daddy’s Crawfish in Shreveport. After an 8 month investigation multiple search warrants and analysis of forensic evidence, NPSO announced they arrested 35 year old Patrick D Howard of Natchitoches for Principle to 1^st Degree Murder. The investigation is active and ongoing.
