A red flag warning is out again for southeast Louisiana and today the warning extends up into the Delta parishes of northeast Louisiana. Officials are asking the public to refrain from outside burning, because of dry and breezy conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for southeast Louisiana urging people to avoid open burning due to dry and breezy conditions. State Fire Marshal’s spokesperson Ashley Rodrigue asks residents to take it seriously. She says between January and March, four people died from out-of-control piles and another person died yesterday in northwest Louisiana

The National Security Agency has designated LSU as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations. The vehicle of a sixth grade teacher reported missing in the Houston-area has been found in New Orleans. The husband of 48-year-old Michelle Reynolds reported his wife missing last Thursday. A ninth insurance company with thousands of policyholders in Louisiana has gone under. Fednat Insurance Corporation has been directed into insolvency by Florida regulators, because it does not have enough money to pay existing claims. Records show Fednat has 13-thousand Louisiana policyholders and 15-hundred claims open.
