Thousands are without power as a result of the storm system moving through Louisiana. There have been reports of tornadoes in Pineville and LaSalle and Washington Parishes. Schools are closed in LaSalle and Rapides Parishes because of power outages and road closures.

The American Psychological Association released a report showing members of Generation Z, people ages 15 to 21, have the worst mental health of any generation. Kevin Barnhart has the story.

The New Orleans City Council votes unanimously to start the process to levy a five-million dollar fine against Entergy, who according to an independent report used paid actors to lobby the council to approve a power plant in New Orleans East. And Moreno adds rate payers should not be the ones who pay this fine. Entergy has 30 days to respond to the fine and there are also calls for a re-vote on the power plant.

LSU is encouraging fans looking for tickets to Saturday’s SEC Showdown between the Tigers and Crimson Tide to use the school’s official ticket reselling partner StubHub. LSU Ticket Manager Brian Broussard says that way if there’s a problem, they can find fix it…

Governor Edwards met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today as part of his week long economic development mission. The governor’s office says today’s meeting should lead to trade and investment growth between Louisiana and Israel in oil and gas, the collaboration of water management research and Louisiana learning new methods to combat cyber security threats.

A Livingston Parish elderly couple was found murdered at their pool company last night and the search is on for the killer. 70-year-old Patricia Gurley and 72-year-old Frank Gurley, a retired Denham Springs teacher. Police Chief Shannon Womack offered limited details, but says they suspect the murders were premeditated.

Hahnville High School QB Andrew Robison has won his arbitration hearing against the LHSAA. The victory means the senior is eligible to play in Friday’s regular-season finale. The search is on for the person or persons responsible in the murder of an elderly couple in Livingston Parish. Denham Springs Police Chief Shannon Womack says 70-year-old Patricia Gurley and 72-year-old Frank Gurley were found dead at a business called National Pool Builders. Womack would not describe how they were killed, but the killer is on the loose…

Monroe State Representative Jay Morris has sent a blast email out to his supporters encouraging them to get behind US Senator John Kennedy in next year’s gubernatorial race against Democratic incumbent John Bel Edwards. Kennedy has not officially entered the race and other elected officials like Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry may get also get in. But Morris says Landry is only a candidate if Kennedy stays out…

That’s Trooper Michael Reichardt. The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission says statistics show Halloween is more dangerous than New Year’s Eve on Louisiana roads. Last year, 878 people were injured and 10 people were killed in vehicle crashes during the Halloween period.

Authorities in southwest Louisiana are looking for 49-year-old Ricky Calloway who allegedly crashed a vehicle into a house, set it on fire in an attempt to kill his ex-wife. The incident happened in the early morning hours of Tuesday in DeRidder. Deputy Chief Christopher Rudy was not successful…

Flooding is a threat tomorrow in south Louisiana as the potential exists for five inches of rain.

Testimony continues today in Avoyelles Parish where Michael Mayeaux faces two counts of second-degree murder in the 2016 deaths of his grandparents Hillman and Eloise Mayeaux. An autopsy shows Eloise was stabbed 33 times, while Hillman was shot in the neck. Michael Mayeaux’s defense team say their client is mentally ill and did not know right from wrong.

Most of Louisiana is under an enhanced threat for severe weather today. The thunderstorms should arrive after trick or treating for most of the state…

A former state representative from North Dakota has died from a bacterial infection after eating raw oysters at a New Orleans restaurant. That’s according to the Bismark Tribune. 58-year-old Rae Anne Kelsh died at New Orleans hospital after serving 22 years in the North Dakota House. Health officials say eating raw or undercooked oysters can cause serious illness or even death.

The point spread is growing for Saturday’s SEC showdown between LSU and Alabama. It’s up to 15 points at some betting sites. Former LSU quarterback Herb Tyler says the underdog role is not the main motivation for the players…
