The Saints and Falcons meet tonight in Atlanta. A win for New Orleans and they’ll clinch the N-F-C South. The Saints will not have two of their starting offensive linemen, Andrus Peat and Terron Armstead have been ruled out. Quarterback Drew Brees says they can’t use that as an excuse not to play well…

With Peat and Armstead out, that means veterans Nick Easton and Patrick Omameh will get the start. Kick-off is at 7:20.

Even though he was public enemy number one last night, Anthony Davis scored 41 points to lead his new team the Lakers to a 114 to 110 victory over his old team, the Pelicans. L-A outscored the Pels 35-21 in the fourth quarter. Jrue Holiday had 29 points for New Orleans, but just four in the second half. And the Pelicans had 20 turnovers as they suffered their third straight loss.

LSU football coach Ed Orgeron says you can expect a fully healthy Grant Delpit for Saturday night’s game against Texas A-and-M. Delpit didn’t play last Saturday against Arkansas because of a sore ankle.

It’s unclear who will start at quarterback for Louisiana Tech on Saturday when they host Texas-San Antonio. Starting quarterback J’Mar Smith has not started the last two games due to a suspension. Redshirt freshman quarterback Aaron Allen threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns in both of those games, which turned out to be losses.

There are several high school football teams practicing today as they get ready for either semi-final or quarterfinal games tomorrow. In Class Four-A, Carencro looks to reach the sem-finals for the first time since 2016 as they will visit Warren Easton.

In Five-A Tomorrow night, second-seeded West Monroe has to travel down to the River Parishes to face Destrehan. 11th seeded Haughton hosts 19th seeded Mandeville, 20th seeded Ruston hosts two-time defending champion, Zachary.

Shreveport police Sergeant Brian Skinner and former Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Colgin have been charged by federal prosecutors for their roles in an investigation into the illegal use of steroids. Each man faces two criminal counts, conspiracy to possess and sell anabolic steroids. Skinner has been on leave since September.

The boo birds are expected to be out in force tonight at the Smoothie King Center as Anthony Davis makes his return to New Orleans. This marks A-D’s first game back since he was traded in the offseason to the Lakers. Pels Guard Jrue Holiday hopes fans will show some respect.

ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne issued an apology today after suggesting on a radio show in Los Angeles that racism is the reason New Orleans fans would boo Davis. Tip-off tonight is at 7 PM.

Louisiana Tech football coach Skip Holtz is not saying if quarterback J’Mar Smith will start versus Texas-San Antonio on Saturday. Smith and junior receiver Adrian Hardy are eligible to play Saturday after serving a two-game suspension. The Bulldogs can win the Conference USA West if they win and UAB losses to North Texas. If Tech, UAB and Southern Miss all win, then computer rankings will determine a division champion.

And KATC-TV in Lafayette reports a plan to host three private school football championship games at Cajun Field has been derailed. That’s because there are no teams from the Lafayette area who can play in the Division Four title game.

Law enforcement agencies are stepping up patrols over Thanksgiving weekend in an effort from keeping the holiday from turning into a tragedy.  Louisiana Highway Safety Commission executive director Lisa Freeman says in 2018’s four-day Thanksgiving weekend, four people died in alcohol-related crashes.

Last year, in total ten people were killed and over 700 injured on Louisiana roads.

Freeman stresses the importance of reducing distractions as driving alone is enough multitasking behind the wheel.

Freeman says the most important action people can take to protect themselves is buckling their seatbelts.

Nationally, 291 people died in Thanksgiving weekend traffic crashes and about half of those were not wearing seat belts.

A Boy Scout leader, 49-year-old Randy Miller Jr. is charged with 500 counts of possession of child pornography according to Livingston parish authorities.  Legal analyst Franz Borghardt says the judge likely stacked all those counts to set an unprecedented $50 million bond.

Borghardt says Miller’s troubles likely will not end at the state level.

Borghardt says the judge likely set the bond at such a level to send a message that Miller will not be out for the holidays.

With school out for Thanksgiving, Bossier Parish’s Sherriff Deputy School Resource Officer Dusty Crenshaw took to patrolling the streets instead of the halls this week. On Monday Crenshaw answered a call that a dog was running loose along Interstate 20. On his first drive of the area, he didn’t see the dog but he made a second pass and located the white and tan dog that was dragging a chain.

In the last year Crenshaw lost two of his own dogs and he knows the importance of reuniting the roaming pup with its rightful owner.

Crenshaw took the dog to a nearby vet to see if the dog was chipped but it wasn’t. He then dropped her off at Bossier City Animal Control so her rightful owner would have three days to claim her. Since he located the dog, he’s already been back to visit her and Crenshaw asked the shelter to call him first if no one claims the dog.

Bossier City Animal Control takes in an average of 40 to 50 dogs per month. They want to encourage you if you are thinking about getting a pet this holiday season to adopt before you shop.

Tonight at the Smoothie King Center, Anthony Davis makes his return. It will be his first game back in New Orleans since the trade that sent him to the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis is not expected to receive a warm welcome when he’s introduced. The Pels are trying to snap a two-game losing streak Tip time is at 7:00.

The Saints can win the N-F-C South if they beat the Falcons tomorrow night. New Orleans is 9-and-2 on the season, four games ahead of Carolina, who the Black and Gold just beat 34-31.

Louisiana Tech can win the Conference USA Western Division if the Bulldogs beat U-T-S-A on Saturday and they’ll also need U-A-B- to lose to North Texas. If Tech, U-A-B and Southern Miss all win their final regular season game, the tie breaker will be determined by average computer ranking.

ULM can become bowl eligible if they upset U-L Lafayette on Saturday night in Cajun Field. Warhawks Coach Matt Viator says he hasn’t spent much time thinking about bowl possibilities…

People are hitting the road in near record-breaking numbers for Thanksgiving. Michael Farrar has the story.

A line of thunderstorms is making its way through south Louisiana this morning. The National Weather Service says possible tornadoes produced damage in Franklin and Madison Parishes. No immediate reports of injuries. November is an active month for tornadic activity in the Gulf South.

Many people are defrosting their turkey today. The U-S-D-A is once again warning cooks not to wash the turkey in the sink, because that could lead to cross-contamination. Food safety expert Janice Lopez-Munoz says also make sure you do not leave your chilled items out of the refrigerator too long…

Imagine buying a diamond for a loved one this holiday and finding out later that you bought a stone that isn’t from the earth, it’s from a lab. Diamond expert Grant Mobley says while the products look similar to the naked eye, they have drastically different values.

24-year-old Cory Hannon has received a 39-year prison sentence for the 2016 manslaughter death of his 13-month-old son. Prosecutors in Bossier Parish say Hannon admitted to be responsible for his child’s death and blamed his action on years of drug abuse. An autopsy found the infant died from massive internal injuries from blunt force trauma.

Ohio State has overtaken LSU for the top spot in the college football playoff rankings, which were released last night. Both teams are 11-and-0, but the Buckeyes picked up another quality win last Saturday when they defeated Penn State 28-17. The Nittany Lions are ranked 10th in the new C-F-P.

LSU can impress the committee this Saturday when they host Texas A-and-M in the regular-season finale. Quarterback Joe Burrow on what the Aggies bring defensively….

Junior Saahdiq Charles will start at left tackle for LSU after missing the last two games because of a coach’s decision. That will put senior Adrian Magee back at left guard.

ULM heads into Saturday’s game against the Ragin Cajuns as a three-touchdown underdog. Last year, the Warhawks lost to U-L Lafayette by three points. ULM coach Matt Viator says the Cajuns are a better team on defense this year
