New Orleans Police continue to search for those responsible for a mass shooting in the 700 block of Canal Street early Sunday morning.  Superintendent of Police Shaun Ferguson says they have multiple agencies investigating the incident that injured ten people and says a suspect is still unclear.

The shooting rampage occurred while the city was hosting the annual Bayou Classic football festivities.  Crimestoppers President Darlene Cusanza says the reward has been bumped up from $5,000 to $10,000 for info leading to an arrest.

Officials are not sure how many shooters were involved and that a weapon was taken from the scene.  Ferguson says six officers and their supervisors were in the block at the time of the shooting.

The 12-0 Tigers will continue their historic march Saturday at 3PM in Atlanta in the SEC Championship game against Georgia. The matchup to watch is LSU’s high-powered offense against Georgia’s stingy defense, which is allowing just 10 points a game. Head coach Ed Orgeron says the Bulldogs have the best defense they’ve faced all season

But LSU’s defense looked strong in the blowout victory over Texas A-and-M on Saturday. The Aggies had just 44 yards of total offense midway through the third quarter.

The Ragin Cajuns and Southern are also preparing for conference championship games. U-L Lafayette will head to Boone, North Carolina to face Appalachian State in a rematch of last year’s Sun Belt title game won by the Mountaineers. The SWAC Title game is also a rematch of last year’s, Alcorn State beat Southern last season.

Louisiana Tech did not win the Conference USA Western Division, but they finished off the regular season with a 41-27 victory over UTSA on Saturday. U-A-B’s win over North Texas puts them in the Conference USA championship game over La Tech and Southern Miss. But the Bulldogs will have the opportunity to win a sixth straight bowl game. They will find out their bowl destination on Sunday.

In the NBA, the Pelicans lost their fifth straight last night falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder 107 to 104. New Orleans is now 6-and-14 and have the second-worst record in the Western Conference.

Pierce said on Talk Louisiana that Cassidy is beholden to moneyed special interests and needs to be replaced with a Senator who focuses on working-class economic issues…

And Natchitoches police arrest 53-year-old Terrence Luke in the fatal stabbing of 55-year-old Katherine White.

The investigation continues into the early Sunday morning mass shooting on Canal Street in New Orleans that left 10 people wounded when bullets went flying just before 3:30 AM. N-O-P-D Superintendent Shaun Ferguson says two of the ten victims were in critical condition. No arrests have been made.
