Louisiana Tech officials announce that J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park will remain at its current location as they rebuild following the tornado that destroyed a number of athletic facilities in April. The school decided the baseball field will remain at the historical location due to its unique setting.  A timetable has not been set on construction.

 

Senate President John Alario is ending his political career after 48 years in the state legislature. Alario who is term-limited had the option of running for a House seat, but the Republican from Westwego (West-wee-go) decided to spend more time with his family. Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Alario is one of Louisiana’s most influential politicians

LSU professor Dr. James Oxley is alive today thanks to eight students who jumped into action when he slipped under water while swimming laps on campus earlier this month as he went into cardiac arrest. Isabella Alvarez, a senior from New Orleans was a lifeguard on duty that day, says she will never forget that fateful day.
