Southern University has named six finalists to be its new president. Three of the six are currently serving in roles in Louisiana: John Belton, the district attorney for the state’s Third Judicial Court, Delgado Community College Chancellor Dr. Larissa Littleton-Steib and Baton Rouge Community College chancellor Dr. Willie Smith. Interviews will be conducted in the coming weeks.

The only junior college in the LSU system is experiencing tremendous growth. The fall enrollment at LSU Eunice has topped four-thousand for the first time ever and is approaching five-thousand. Chancellor Nancee Sorensen says the enrollment increase to just under 47-hundred students is the result of the school’s ability to adapt to changing times.
