Southern will look to bounce back from a 30-17 loss to Alabama State in coach Marshall Faulk’s first home game against Kentucky State on Saturday. The Jaguars led 17-13 at halftime, and Faulk says they need to learn how to play with a lead.

ULM begins its football season Saturday at Mississippi State. The Warhawks finished last season last in the Sun Belt West with a 3-and-9 record and lost their last eight games. Head coach Bryant Vincent says playing an SEC team in week one is obviously a big challenge, but he welcomes the early test.
