LSU football coach Lane Kiffin praised transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt after the first week of fall camp today.

Southern football coach Marshall Faulk confirmed junior running back Barry Remo will likely miss the 2026 season with a knee injury suffered during spring practice. The Catholic High School product had a successful medical procedure, but Faulk says they decided it would be best to sit out the season. Remo was named MVP of the Bayou Classic last season after taking seven carries for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Former Saints quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is retiring from the NFL. The 33-year-old stepped away from the league to coach high school football after the 2023 season but returned last year. He said this time it’s official as he continues to feel the effects of a devastating 2016 knee injury. Bridgewater became a fan favorite in two seasons in New Orleans and led the Saints to a 5-and-0 record as a starter in 2019.

LSU safety Ty Benefield is ready to be one of LSU’s top playmakers since transferring from Boise State. He says we can’t wait to open the season at home versus Clemson.

The Saints’ week one opponent, the Detroit Lions, have had some bad injury luck. Center Cade Mays is expected to miss around eight to 10 weeks after suffering a wrist injury. Running back Isaiah Pacheco is sidelined with an MCL sprain, but head coach Dan Campbell said he is expected to be back by the season opener.

LA Tech All-American safety Jakari Foster is back with the Bulldogs as an assistant coach. Foster went undrafted and bounced around a few NFL rookie minicamps after leading the nation with seven interceptions last year and is now back in Ruston helping with the special teams and safeties.
