In an effort to get more information into what led to the now dismissed 16-count criminal indictment against Attorney General Liz Murrill, the A-G has filed a lawsuit against the special prosecutor in the case and the Orleans D-A, seeking text messages and phone records. Murrill and Governor Landry are also questioning whether the secrecy of the grand jury process was violated. Murrill says information that should have remained confidential was improperly disclosed.

Court records show former DeRidder mayor Misty Roberts will return to court on August 31st. The prosecution has filed a motion asking Judge Kent Savoie to reconsider Roberts sentence for having sex with a 16-year-old boy. She was sentenced in June to 90 days in jail.
