A federal grand jury indicts an Alexandria man in connection with the murder of a federal agent, and prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty. U.S. Attorney Zachary Keller announced the five-count indictment against 48-year-old Clarence Frazier Jr., starting with the most serious on.

Hanson and others were executing an arrest warrant on July 13th for missing a sexual assault trial when Frazier allegedly shot Hanson to death.
Hunters who want a chance to participate in the state’s third black bear hunting season since 1987 can apply to the LDWF lottery now. LDWF Large Carnivore Program Manager John Hanks says 42 tags will be issued.
On this, the second day of the congressional election qualifying period, we still don’t know whether Blake Miguez will run in the fifth or the sixth district. Rick Edmonds, who qualified in district six yesterday, said what speaks volumes is that while President Trump endorsed Miguez in the fifth district in the closed primary that was cancelled at the last minute, there was no such nod in the sixth district.
Edmonds isn’t the only Republican vying to succeed Cleo Fields in the redrawn sixth district. Michael Mebruer says there’s one issue in particular he would focus on should he be elected.
