Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple says this year’s legislative session was a very productive one for the Department of Insurance. Temple is hailing a new law that allows the department to take action against people who are working without a license.
Temple says the new law gives the department more leeway to start investigations on people in the business of insurance who are not licensed and are accused of committing insurance fraud.
The Louisiana Supreme Court has halted criminal proceedings against indicted Attorney General Liz Murrill and it’s possible the 16 felony counts against her could be tossed out.
