A new report from the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana shows enrollment in public schools here has gone down five percent this year. PAR President Steve Procopio says several increased alternatives like charter and private schools, along with home schooling, population loss and Covid 19 have all contributed to the decline.

Louisiana officials are looking to expand hunting for black-bellied whistling ducks in our state. Right now, these ducks can be hunted during the regular winder waterfowl season, which runs fro November to January. The U.S. Supreme Court sided with Louisiana’s injunction blocking the Biden administration’s expansion of Title IX to include gender identity. Colleen Crain has the story.
