Tough loss for the Ragin Cajuns baseball team last night in the Sun Belt Tournament. U-L Lafayette was up three to nothing in the ninth, thanks to some great pitching from Ty Roman, but gave up four runs in the bottom of the ninth off of three relievers and lost to Texas State four to three. The Cajuns will play Coastal Carolina again at 3 PM in an elimination game.
Lamar handled McNeese nine to three in game one of their best out of three Southland Tournament Championship series. Game two is tonight at six.
Southern’s 16-game winning streak came to an end yesterday as the Jaguars lost to Florida A-and-M 15 to six. Southern will try to stay alive when they play Texas Southern at noon.
Grambling was eliminated from the tournament when they lost to Bethune Cookman seven to six.
If La Tech does not beat Liberty this morning, the Bulldogs will be eliminated from the Conference USA Tournament. That game will start at 8 AM.
French seven-footer Brice Dessert has reportedly signed to play for Will Wade and LSU. The 23-year-old played for a professional team in Turkey this past season and averaged nearly nine points a game and shot 81-percent from the field. He also had offers from Kansas and Auburn.
