Drew Brees’ Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony speech did not disappoint. The legendary Saints quarterback poured out his emotions.

His arrival in New Orleans came at a pivotal moment following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. His success on the football field became intertwined with New Orleans’ recovery, and his leadership helped create some of the most memorable moments in Saints history.

Discouraging news regarding Saints edge rusher Cam Jordan. The 37-year-old suffered a hamstring injury and Coach Kellen Moore says they are waiting on a second opinion before determining how much time he might miss.

ULM is renaming Malone Stadium to FMOL Health St. Francis Stadium as part of an expanded partnership with the healthcare ministry. Warhawks Athletics Director SJ Tuohy says that the partnership will help balance the athletics budget and provide opportunities for student-athletes moving forward.

ULM also agreed to a deal to rename its basketball arena to B1Bank Fant Coliseum.

The LSU football team returns to the practice field today. One of the big storylines so far is that former Destrehan star Jhase Thomas is pushing for a starting spot at safety. Tamarcus Cooley was the starter at that spot last season, but he did not grade out well according to Pro Football Focus.
