Tonight LSU and Alabama face each other in an NCAA Softball Super Regional in Tuscaloosa. LSU is making its 11th NCAA Super Regional Appearance, and they are playing their best softball of the season, winning 12 of its last 15. The offense has come around, led by Jalia Lassiter, Kylee Edwards and Sierra Daniel. Coach Beth Torina says they had a feeling this group would hit.

Because of all the rain in Montgomery, Alabama, the site of the Sun Belt Tournament, the Ragin Cajuns elimination game against Coastal Carolina has been moved to Troy’s baseball field in Troy, Alabama. First pitch is at 7 PM.

 

Louisiana Tech played its last Conference USA game today. A six to nothing loss to Liberty in the Conference USA Tournament. Coach Lane Burroughs not happy with the season. Tech finished with a 33-25 record and Burroughs says they got to be better as the Dogs move into the Sun Belt.

Tonight in Beaumont, McNeese needs to beat Lamar to force a third and deciding game in the Southland Tournament Championship series.

Memorial services are tomorrow for legendary coach Bobby Keasler. Keasler guided McNeese to four Southland Conference championships from 1991 to 1997. In 1997, he took the Cowboys to the Division One-Double-A national championship game. Keasler coached 53 first-team All-Southland players and 16 first-team All-Americans.
