LSU baseball’s national title defense was a major dud, and their season came to a merciful end last night with a 3-1 loss to Auburn in the SEC Tournament. Head Coach Jay Johnson says the loss is really hard on the 12 seniors on the team.

The Southland Tournament Championship series between McNeese and Lamar begins tonight in Beaumont. Pitching is the name of the game in postseason play. McNeese Coach Justin Hill says the Cowboys have one of the better pitchers in the Southland in Eric Nachtsheim.

First pitch is at 6 PM.

The Ragin Cajuns are playing Texas State this afternoon in the Sun Belt Tournament. They’ve already won two games this week and according to D-1 baseball, they’ve done enough to get into the NCAA Tournament as a three seed at a Regional.

Louisiana Tech’s Conference USA Tournament game against Liberty has been moved up to eight in the morning.  A must win for the Bulldogs if they want to advance to the semifinals.
