The LSU softball team is set to play its first game of the Baton Rouge regional at 5:30. The Tigers will host Mid-American Conference champion Akron in the first ever meeting between the two programs.

LSU baseball will hope to bounce back from an 11-8 loss to 19th-ranked Florida in game two of the series tonight. Freshman right-hander Marcos Paz (“pause”) will get the start on the mound for the Tigers tonight. The Carrollton, Texas, native is 1-and-3 on the season with an 8.28 ERA in 16 appearances and five starts. First pitch is set for 6:30.

UL-Lafayette will have an opportunity to clinch a series win over 20th-ranked Coastal Carolina at 6:00 tonight. The Ragin Cajuns took game one of the series yesterday, 7-2.

Louisiana Tech can also clinch its final Conference USA series with a win tonight against Sam Houston. After a 2-1 win yesterday, the Bulldogs sit just a game back from 2nd place Liberty and 3rd place Dallas Baptist in the conference standings ahead of next week’s tournament.

In Louisiana high school baseball, Sterlington beat Westlake, 18-7, to set up a winner take all matchup in the division three nonselect state championship game tomorrow at 11 a-m.

The 2026 Saints schedule is out, and the Black and Gold will start the campaign against a familiar face as they travel to Detroit to face Dan Campbell’s Lions. The Lions are coming off a 9-and-8 season last year, but WWL’s Mike Detillier says they’ll be just as dangerous as the 15-and-2 team from two years ago.

New Orleans will take another tough road trip to Baltimore week two before a week three home opener against the Raiders. Detillier says they’ll have another difficult away stretch in late November.
