Tough news for LSU linebacker Whit Weeks as he could miss the rest of the season after breaking his leg in Saturday’s 35-6 win over Texas A-and-M. Davhon (DAY-von) Keys will step up as the starter, like he did last season with Weeks out. Head Coach Lane Kiffin and his staff rebuilt the LSU roster with a massive transfer class, but he still has concerns about its depth with eight games remaining.

A Hammond police officer finds himself on the other side of the law. 28-year-old Corey Bergeron is arrested for domestic violence. He’s charged with two counts of battery on a dating partner, one of which includes strangulation. He was booked into jail on 50-thousand dollars bond. Tangipahoa Parish deputies say there may be additional victims.
