Tomorrow is Election Day in Louisiana. In early voting, updated numbers from the Secretary of State’s office show that Democrats outnumbered Republicans at the polls statewide by more than eight-thousand – and LaPolitics-dot-com publisher Jeremy Alford says that could spell doom for the constitutional amendments.

More than four-thousand birds were harvested during the 2026 turkey harvesting season, which is a new record in the state. LDWF Turkey Program Manager Cody Cedotal (SED-uh-tul) says many hunters again reported increased encounters with jakes, which is an indicator of good reproduction in some areas.

Just days after Joe Spatafora announced that he’s leaving for a job in Arkansas, Union Parish High School has its new head football coach. The school has hired Dmitri Carr, who helped Farmerville High School to the 2001 state championship. This is not Carr’s first go-around at Union Parish – he was on Spatafora’s staff for four years, as linebackers coach and as defensive coordinator.
