LSU starting quarterback Sam Leavitt told reporters on Monday it’s a great time in his life. Leavitt says he’s really happy with his decision to transfer to LSU. Leavitt said one of the reasons he chose to come to LSU was to improve as a quarterback. He said he gets to play against great players in practice and is coached by great offensive minds like Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr.

Leavitt says he’s also 100-percent back from the foot injury that ended his season prematurely last year.
Saints coach Kellen Moore said today that defensive end Cam Jordan could miss the start of the regular season after suffering a hamstring injury. Moore says Jordan is still being evaluated and will miss a little bit of time.
