LSU baseball swept South Carolina this past weekend to keep its postseason hopes alive as the Tigers improved to 9-15 in the SEC. They need to get to 13 league wins to have a shot at making the NCAA Tournament. LSU hosts Tulane tomorrow night and then visit fifth ranked Georgia this weekend.

Big recruiting news broke over the weekend as two-sport star Ahmad Hudson from Ruston High School committed to LSU. Hudson led both the Ruston football and boys’ basketball teams to the state championship this past season. He caught 41 passes for 718 yards and had six touchdowns for the Bearcats on the football field and was recently named Mr. Basketball in Louisiana after averaging 20 points and 13 rebounds a game. At the state softball tournament…Calvary Baptist tied a state record with its sixth consecutive LHSAA Championship as the Lady Cavaliers defeated Parkview five to two in Sunday’s title game. Vandebilt Catholic won its 17th state championship with with a two to nothing win over Archbishop Hannan. Sterlington upset Kaplan five to four to win the school’s third state title in history.
