After the initial vote stirred a lot of controversy, the Louisiana Republican Party has now endorsed both Blake Miguez and Rick Edmonds in the sixth congressional district race. That endorsement opens up Republican National Committee funding for both. The executive committee also endorsed Misti Cordell in the fifth district.
A recent audit of Baton Rouge-area restaurants found that more than one-fourth of them claimed their shrimp was domestic when in fact it was imported. SeaD Consulting Co-Founder David Williams says for every dollar spent on American wild-caught shrimp, only 40 cents are spent on misrepresented imported shrimp, costing the American shrimping industry about 225-thousand dollars in losses per day.
