A Morgan City man is arrested in connection with the death of a woman. 49-year-old William Billiot is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of 65-year-old Brenda Bernucho inside her home. An investigation into her death showed signs of foul play and connected Billiot to her death.
State Police are cracking down on truckers using the left lane on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge, which has been prohibited since 2003. During a recent targeted operation, LSP cited 26 commercial drivers, and they say similar operations will continue. Renee Amar, the executive director of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association, says those efforts are a positive for all Louisiana drivers.
