The suspected gunman in Friday’s early morning shooting at an off-campus fraternity house at Southern University, 22-year-old Jaicedric Williams was out on bond and had posted bond twice within a month, in October of 2020 on separate domestic violence and attempted armed robbery charges. Bail for the 11 counts of attempted murder from the Friday shooting was denied.

Donelon says over a third of Lloyd’s business is writing reinsurance to cover companies that claim losses. He says Louisiana makes up a good amount of that business…:

He believes that race helped build up his base, which makes him the Democrats best chance to defeat Kennedy….

The man accused of shooting up a frat party that injured 11 people near the Southern University campus in Baton Rouge Friday is under arrest. BRPD’s Sgt. L’Jean McKneely says the investigation is ongoing and witnesses are encouraged to come forward…:

Police in Baton Rouge make an arrest in last Friday’s shooting incident at a frat party near the Southern University campus that left 11 people shot and injured. BRPD Sgt. L’Jean McKneely says 22-year-0old Jaicedric Williams was taken into custody Sunday. Two accessories to the crime were arrested late Friday. McKneely says gunfire erupted after some kind of argument…:

His books have been compared with Hemingway and Faulkner, and he is considered among America’s greatest writers. It was only a two-percent increase as every state but two reported a decline in the percentage of fourth graders scoring basic or above in reading. New Orleans Police say a woman who works as a “shot girl” at a Bourbon Street bar attacked and robbed a woman who refused to pay, after she poured liquor down the woman’s throat. The victim says 27-year-old Paris Love forced her to drink, then demanded money. Cops say Love and two other took the woman’s money and cell phone and fled. She’s charged with simple robbery.

The first full month of football brought a nice surge in sports betting revenue for Louisiana. The state Gaming Control Board says September saw almost $4-million in fee income from sportsbook. The September gaming report noted that on-site sportsbook revenues for DraftKings at the Golden Nugget and The Sportsbook at L’Auberge – both in Lake Charles – did significantly more business than onsite operations in other cities. Board Chairman Ronnie Johns says we have our Texas neighbors to thank for that..:
