LSU Manship School of Mass Communication Chair, Robert Mann says he will step down at the end of the academic year following Governor-Elect Jeff Landry’s victory. Mann said he doesn’t want Landry to punish the school because of his presence.

Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson from the Shreveport-Bossier area says he will run for House Speaker if Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio doesn’t get elected.  ULM Political Science Professor Dr. Joshua Stockley says Johnson is a more conservative Republican and is unsure if he will get the 217 votes needed to become the next House Speaker.

The police chief in the small town of Georgetown in Grant Parish has been arrested after he allegedly collected a cash payment during a traffic stop. 51-year-old George Hinds has been charged with malfeasance. State Police is leading the investigation.
