A Suffolk University poll on Louisiana’s US Senate race shows the two front-runners in a statistical dead heat leading up to next Tuesday’s election. 36-percent said they would vote for Democrat incumbent Senator Mary Landrieu in the primary, while 35-percent chose Republican Congressman Bill Cassidy. Trooper Evan Harrell says a Honda Civic was traveling south on LA-1 in Napoleonville and crossed the center line where a Nissan Altima was traveling north…:

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s office says a Prairieville man is under arrest for allegedly ramming a vehicle over and over while his wife and another male victim were inside. Major Ward Webb says 33-year-old Gerald Asay saw his wife in a car another man was driving and got upset

He says at least 6 people were injured in the crash. Asay faces multiple charges including two counts of attempted murder.

Coach Les Miles lost his 91-year-old mother on Friday night then about 24 hours later he was awarded the game ball by his team after LSU stunned the 3rd ranked team in the nation on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. The Bayou Bengals are now No. 16 in the latest AP poll and NO. 17 in the Coaches poll. Miles has time to grieve as the team is off this weekend before their November 8th home game against Alabama.

Deputies in Ascension Parish say a Prairieville man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly ramming his estranged wife’s car over and over while she was inside with another man. They say the incident caused a three-vehicle accident which injured 6 people. 33-year-old Gerald Asay faces many charges including two counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of negligent injuring.

Louisiana State Police say a head-on collision in Assumption Parish has taken the life of a 10-year-old girl and sent three others to the hospital. Authorities say Neveah Pierson of Gray was killed when the vehicle she was traveling in crossed the center line and struck another car yesterday afternoon. The driver, 31-year-old Sommer Pierson, Naveah’s mother, and another passenger are hospitalized with moderate injuries. The driver of the other vehicle also received moderate injuries. The investigation is ongoing, although authorities do not suspect impairment to be a factor.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that an inmate being held at the parish jail committed suicide over the weekend. Authorities say a 16-year-old male inmate was found hanged in his cell just before midnight Saturday night. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead by medical staff. His identity has not been released.

Election day is next Tuesday and there are still questions concerning the two big Congressional races.
