A single vehicle crash in Terrebonne Parish this morning has claimed the lives of two unrestrained passengers from Gray on Louisiana Highway 182. State Police twenty-three Jerome Evans and 31 year-old Dontrell Boykin were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say fog was reported in the area.

A Rapides Parish teacher who was reprimanded for voicing her concerns over Common Core on her Facebook page has Governor Bobby Jindal issuing an executive order to protect a teacher’s right to freedom of speech. The Alexandria Town Talk published the story that says some teachers are scared to speak up.

In Jackson, Louisiana two teen-aged boys have been arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a special needs girl at East Feliciana High School. Eighteen year-old Jacobey Johnson of Clinton and 18 year-old Breeon Lee of Jackson were each arrested for attempted aggrevated rape, and their bond was set at $200 thousand dollars each.

This story out of North Louisiana: In Shreveport, police have made three arrests following an under-cover operation targeting human trafficking and prostitution…

Louisiana State Police say a 29-year-old man from Cedar Hill, Texas walked into Troop I in Lafayette this week with a Glock in a leather holster on his hip and told troopers he wanted to turn himself in. They say once troopers noticed Allen Norris had a gun they took him into custody.

There are a bunch of new jobs coming to Louisiana and not even residents here to fill them up accorindg to the state Department of Economic Development. LED Secretary Stephen Moret says to try to remedy that they’ve launched “ComeHomeLouisiana.com” to try to talk natives who live in other states to come back…:

Shreveport PD arrests three people after an undercover operation targeting human trafficking and prostitution. 27-year-old Allen Nash of Dallas and 19-year-old Rodisha Johnson of New Orleans were booked. Corporal Marcus Hines says the suspect’s allegedly transported a person across state lines for the purpose of sex or prostitution…:

The third suspect, 17-year-old Natay Barret of Dallas was arrested on one count of prostitution.

A trial date has been set for the lawsuit which challenges the controversial law in Louisiana which requires abortion doctors to have admitting privlages at nearby hospitals. The case is scheduled to be heard on March 30th of next year but until then a temporary restraining order barring the state from penalizing doctors who are applying to have admitting privileges remains in effect.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s office says they’ve made a second arrest in the case of the man who was shot to death over his cell phone. The latest suspect is 17-year-old Jordan Harris of Baton Rouge. 18-year-old James Mills was arrested Monday also in the death of 24-year-old Hancy Sanchez. Investigators say both suspects admitted to planning to rob the victim for his phone.
