After 11 plus seasons and 114 wins, Les Miles is no longer the head coach at LSU. Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron were let go after a loss to Auburn dropped the Tigers out of the AP Top 25. Safety Jamal Adams says Miles spoke with the team before he left.

Congressman Garret Graves is not happy that flood victims are still struggling a month after the flood. He says if people can’t repair their homes, there will be less property tax revenue to fund schools, fire departments and drainage systems.

Tonight’s Saints game marks ten years since the Superdome reopened after Hurricane Katrina. Former Governor Kathleen Blanco faced criticism for trying to get it reopened so quickly when thousands of people needed help. She says they got funds from the NFL and FEMA that could only go towards repairs for the building. She says in the end, she received many public apologies.

The new book Murder on the Bayou by Ethan Brown explores the murders of 8 prostitutes in Jefferson Davis parish and alleges that Congressman Charles Boustany was involved with the women. Brown says there is no question that a staffer at Boustany’s office also worked at the Boudreaux Inn, where the women would perform their services.

A 45-year-old Baton Rouge man walking on a roadway early Sunday morning was hit and killed according to police. They say Reginald Holden died after being struck by a Chevrolet Equinox.

It’s been 10 years since the Mercedes Benz Superdome reopened after Hurricane Katrina, as the Saints and Falcons prepare to kickoff tonight in New Orleans. Kathleen Blanco was governor at the time and says even though she was criticized for it, Saints owner Tom Benson promised if they could open the Superdome before the 2006 season, he wouldn’t move the franchise:

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent Sunday murder-suicide. It’s reported that 67-year-old Larry Townsend shot and killed 68-year-old Linda Townsend, his wife, before turning the gun on himself. JPSO is trying to determine a motive.

State Police say a woman from Bastrop died after being hit by a vehicle driven by a 73-year-old man while she was trying to cross US Highway 165. They say William Hendrix Jr of Bastrop was traveling on 165 around 12:45am Sunday morning, when he struck the pedestrian, 38-year-old Lela Brandon. Brandon was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

New Orleans Police say they arrested seven people in an otherwise uneventful demonstration over the Andrew Jackson statue in Jackson Square. An activist group said they were going to take the statue down, but the city warned that vandalizing public property is a crime. Take Em Down Nola backs plans to remove several local monuments to the Confederacy, and has complained about the city’s delay in taking them down.

The ACLU of Louisiana is reacting to reports about a man who was arrested in Lafayette and charged with “flag desecration.” Charri Mohama was booked for allegedly being shown on tape burning an American flag, and tearing up another. In a release, the ACLU of Louisiana says it is not a crime to destroy or damage the flag.

Health officials says it’s okay to swim and fish in the Bogue Chitto River again, after being warned to stay away since mid-September when a breach at a Mississippi sewage plant dumped 1.3 million gallons of storm water-diluted sewage into the water.

Former KKK Grand Wizard and U.S. Senate candidate David Duke is expected to be at protest in Jackson Square today where the activist group, Take Em Down NOLA, will push to remove the statue of Andrew Jackson. Duke’s website says he will be pushing to keep the monument up. But group member Malcom Suber says their position has always been to remove any monuments that represent white supremacy.

Hunters for the Hungry is hosting their annual Cleanout your Freezer day tomorrow from 1 to 4 p.m. for hunters to donate last season’s game before the start of hunting season. H-F-H Executive Director Jimmy Anthony says there are 12 collection sites and to find one in your area visit hunters-the-number-4-hungry-louisiana-dot-org (hunters4hungrylouisiana.org). He says they are not collecting any meat over a year old.

Over 100-thousand dollars has been donated to Livingston Parish Schools to help in the flood recovery process. Superintendent Rick Wentzel says the St. Tammany Parish School System really stepped up to help. He also says they received a massive donation from a big named celebrity.

The Louisiana Department of Health has updated the number of Zika and West Nile cases in the state. There are now 26 confirmed cases of West Nile in Louisiana so far this year. There were no deaths linked to West Nile in 2016. There are 31 confirmed Zika cases in the state so far. All of the cases of Zika virus were travel related and there has been no local transmission.

Congressman Garret Graves says he’s upset that the proposal to get 500 million dollars in federal aid to flood victims is wrapped up in politics. Graves says when you look at the tens of thousands of people that need help getting back in their homes $500 million doesn’t go far.
