LSU interim coach Brad Davis said today the Tigers are hoping freshman Garrett Nussmeier can play in the Texas Bowl against Kansas State on January fourth but maintain his redshirt season. Nussmeier is the only scholarship quarterback on the roster, but if he plays in the Texas Bowl, he can not use this as a red-shirt season and still have four years of eligibility left. Davis says they have several quarterbacks taking reps, but didn’t say who, but is confident they’ll be able to move the ball against the Wildcats.
