Shreveport Police are asking public help in locating a missing woman. 22-year-old ShaToria Jones was last seen Tuesday. Her family is concerned because her birthday is tomorrow. She is a black woman, with medium complexion and wears eyeglasses. Call Shreveport Police with any tips.

Tailgaters are already in place for this evening’s historic first-ever matchup between the LSU and Southern University football teams. To make traffic easier when the game is over, officials say contraflow will be in effect, and only outbound traffic will be allowed; meaning ALL lanes will be one-way leading away from Tiger Stadium. The game is completely sold out.

So, imagine your 71-year-old friend who’s never been gator hunting in their life, tells you he caught one that he thought weighed around 400 pounds. You’d laugh at them, right? Well, Jerry Sepulvado of Calhoun did just that Wednesday on Lake St. John. He actually caught three gators and one was a real whopper…:

A teenage carjacker was shot and killed Thursday night after he fired on Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputies trying to arrest him. The incident happened very near the Jefferson/Orleans parish line in Algiers. The suspect is not identified because he is only 16. No officers were hurt in the gunfire.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell says she will not reimburse the city for almost $30-thousand in travel upgrades during recent trips to Miami, D.C. and France. She says the additional dollars were for her (quote) “safety, not luxury.” Cantrell‘s extravagance is one reason cited for the recall petition against her.

David Scotton is in his twenties now. He has met his birth mother, and Susan says that the two mothers exchange periodic texts, especially on Mother’s Day.

The two schools have a new five year plan to collaborate more closely in a range of academic areas. But Shields says the new connections are about much more than agreements on paper.

He says that for the first time, deans and other academic leaders from both schools sat down and had face conversations.

Graves says FEMA tried to raise flood premiums during the Obama Administration but there was an intervention and a second attempt during the Trump Administration was also circumvented.

The rate hikes are significantly higher in Louisiana. Graves says he’s seen some premiums go from $560 annually to $8,000. He believes FEMA’s rate hikes are an overreach and there’s a bipartisan effort asking for transparency of the agency.

Graves says the agency should be investing in infrastructure to protect areas vulnerable to flooding instead of overcharging policyholders.

Graves says policyholders are seeing higher rates when they renew their flood insurance, and they will continue to climb each year without intervention.

This may come as no surprise, but Louisiana is the most overpriced of states for cost of flood insurance. An independent study by First Street made the conclusion. District 6 Congressman Garret Graves says he’s seen some premiums go from $560 annually to $8,000. He says attempts to jack up flood insurance were attempted under Presidents Obama and Trump…:

City policy says traveling city employees are required to seek the lowest fares available or reimburse the city for deluxe accommodations.
