Sumrall’s father, George Sumrall, passed away on Thursday evening, he announced on social media.

Among them is redshirt freshman quarterback Colin Hurley, who enrolled at LSU as a 16-year-old. LSU safety A.J. Haulcy has accepted his invitation to play in the Panini Senior Bowl on January 31st. Haulcy, who was named to the All-SEC first team, recorded 88 tackles, forced one fumble and intercepted three passes this season.

The vote came following more than two hours of passionate public comment, with several people speaking out in favor of the project…

In the end, the council vote was 7-0. Councilman Jim Taliaferro explained that he understood everyone’s concerns as he voted in favor of the data center, but he as a leader has to look at the big picture.

In the Green Wave’s first game against Ole Miss this season, junior quarterback Jake Retzlaff only completed 5 of 17 passes for 52 yards. New Southern head football coach Marshall Faulk has hired several new coaches. Kyle Caskey is being named as the offensive coordinator. Caskey spent 12 years as an NFL assistant coach with the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, and Jacksonville Jaguars. Faulk’s former Rams teammate, Todd Lyght is being hired as the defensive coordinator. Former LSU head coach Les Miles’ son, Ben Miles, is being hired as the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator. Former Saints wide receiver coach Curtis Johnson, who formerly recruited Faulk to San Diego State, has been hired as the general manager.

A massive enforcement operation in North Louisiana targeting registered sex offenders nets 67 arrests. It’s one of the biggest child predator busts in state history. Attorney General Liz Murrill says it happened during a month-long operation last month called Operation Access Denied.

More than 30 law enforcement agencies took part in the operation.

The American Tort Reform Foundation is out with its ranking of its worst judicial hellholes of 2025. President Tiger Joyce says one long-running state case rose to close to the top of the list.

The National Retail Federation expects almost 160-million shoppers to hit the stores this weekend, with more than 41-million shopping online. The American Tort Reform Foundation says the ongoing coastal litigation is the fourth biggest judicial hellhole in the country. This year, Chevron was ordered to pay 744-million dollars to Plaquemines Parish; Chevron has appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, claiming that state court was not the proper venue. Foundation President Tiger Joyce says Chevron has a good case.

Christmas week is next week, and that means another busy travel week. And Triple-A says this year will be another record-breaker, with more than 122-million Americans heading out of town for the holidays. The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says highly pathogenic avian flu is killing wild birds in the state. LDWF says fall migrations have created a resurgence of HPAI-induced disease in waterfowl and other birds. While this strain is of minimal threat to humans, LDWF says you should never handle a sick bird.
