LSU redshirt junior quarterback Sam Leavitt has missed most of the spring while recovering from a Lisfranc foot injury. Coach Lane Kiffin says that even though he has not been able to spend much time on the field, Leavitt has remained engaged and continues to find ways to improve.

Junior safety Dashawn Spears moved to the STAR position this offseason. Kiffin says it’s one of the most important roles on the field and believes the Denham Springs native did a tremendous job there this spring.

Now that spring practice is officially over, LSU’s assistant coaches have hit the recruiting trail hard this week, spreading out across the country. Linebackers coach Chris Kiffin has been working in the Baton Rouge area, defensive line coach Sterling Lucas is on the East Coast, and interior defensive line coach Kevin Peoples is in Texas.

The LSU baseball team snapped a three-game losing streak last night with a 12–4 win over Southeastern Louisiana. Sophomore outfielder Derek Curiel led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles, and two RBIs. The Tigers will look to snap their historic nine-game SEC losing streak on Friday when they host South Carolina.

UL-Lafayette also got back in the win column last night, run-ruling Southern 15-5 in seven innings to end the Jaguars’ 10-game winning streak. Former Catholic High standout Noah Lewis led the offense with two hits and four RBIs, including a solo home run. The Cajuns host Nicholls tonight at 6 p.m. before taking on Georgia State this weekend.

ULM run-ruled Louisiana Tech 16-5 in seven innings on Tuesday, snapping the Bulldogs’ three-game winning streak. It marked the second time this season the Warhawks have run-ruled Tech. ULM travels to 12th-ranked Southern Miss this weekend, while Louisiana Tech heads to Dallas Baptist.

An agreement has been reached between Louisiana Tech and Conference USA that allows Tech to leave Conference USA and join the Sun Belt this summer. Terms of the out-of-court settlement have not been released. It’s been reported that La Tech would have to pay an eight-million-dollar exit fee.

LIV Golf has cancelled the golf tournament it was planning to hold in June at City Park in New Orleans. The announcement is not a surprise. It was previously reported that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is pulling back funding after providing the professional golf league with billions of dollars. LIV will reportedly pay back the one-million dollars it received from the state. Two-million dollars in state money has already gone to upgrades at City Park golf course.

LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson says Casan Evans may pitch this weekend against South Carolina. He was scratched from his start last Friday because of arm soreness.

The Tigers host Southeastern Louisiana tonight and La Tech is at ULM.

LSU football coach Lane Kiffin spoke to the media to talk about the end of spring practice. Kiffin says that quarterback Sam Leavitt participated in 7-on-7 drills in Saturday’s final day of practice. Kiffin says Leavitt only had limited snaps, but he’s trending in the right direction.

LSU junior linebacker Davhon (DAY-von) Keys led the team with 92 tackles last season after stepping in for the injured Whit Weeks. Keys says the opportunity to play significant snaps last year has been very helpful to his development.

Former Louisiana high school football star Trey Holly has avoided jail time by entering a no contest plea. Holly was accused of illegal use of a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property for a 2024 shooting that took place in his hometown of Farmerville that wounded two people. Holly’s attorney, Mike Small, says Holly did not plead guilty to anything…

Holly was sentenced to one year probation and a one-thousand dollar fine and he’ll continue playing football for Southern

Three of the eight Saints draft picks were receivers as they provided starting quarterback Tyler Shough with more options in the passing. In the first round, New Orleans took Jordyn Tyson from Arizona State, and in the fourth round, they made an interesting pick in six-foot-three Bryce Lane from North Dakota State. LSU women’s basketball and Coach Kim Mulkey announced the addition of 6-3 forward Noa Morro on Monday. Morro joins the Tigers after playing in Spain and competing at a high level in EuroLeague action. Through 25 games this season, she averaged 8.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. She also shot 36.5% from three-point range. She becomes the third true post player on LSU’s roster, joining Grace Knox and Kate Koval.

LSU football coach Lane Kiffin added nine wide receivers through the transfer portal this offseason. Sophomore wide receiver Winston Watkins believes the Tigers’ receiver room is loaded with playmakers and says they can hurt defenses in a variety of ways.

The Saints selected wide receiver Jordan Tyson out of Arizona State with the eighth overall pick last night, which adds another weapon to quarterback Tyler Shough’s arsenal. Tyson caught 61 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games with the Sun Devils last season. Coach Kellen Moore says Tyson has several skills that stood out.

The draft continues at six this evening with the second round, in which the Saints have the tenth pick.

The Kansas City Chiefs moved up three spots to number six to take former LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane. He becomes the second-highest LSU DB selected in the draft and the ninth defensive back in program history to be selected in the first round. According to Spotrac, Delane’s rookie contract is worth $41.9 million with $26.9 million guaranteed.

Former Tigers Garrett Nussmeier, Harold Perkins Jr. and AJ Haulcy will all await to hear their names being called tonight.

The LSU baseball team will look to turn its season around starting this afternoon as the Tigers travel to Starkville for a three-game series against 15th-ranked Mississippi State. Coach Jay Johnson says the Bulldogs present another tough test for his team.

First pitch has been moved up to 3 p-m because of the potential of severe weather in Starkville tonight.

Louisiana Tech baseball opens a pivotal three-game home series against Missouri State tonight. The Bears rank second in Conference USA and 11th nationally with 76 home runs and counting. Head coach Lane Burroughs says his team must do a good job of limiting the long ball this weekend.

The Saints will look to make a splash in this year’s NFL Draft, much like they did last season. New Orleans holds eight picks this weekend, including the number-eight overall selection. One name that has appeared in several mock drafts is LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane. General Manager Mickey Loomis, who attended Delane’s impressive pro day at LSU, says he is uber-talented.

The LSU Board of Supervisors has approved a new contract for athletic director Verge Ausberry. Ausberry will receive one-point-five million dollars by the end of 2027 and his eight-million dollar deal runs through 2030. The former linebacker now A-D addressed the LSU Board of Supervisors before his new contract was approved…

At LSU’s 14th spring practice on Thursday, redshirt junior wide receiver Jackson Harris exited with an apparent injury after landing awkwardly on an incompletion. He was evaluated by trainers and walked off under his own power, but did not return.

UL Lafayette football will wrap up spring practice with a game Saturday. One position group coach Michael Desormeaux wants to see more production from is the wide receivers. With Shelton Sampson out with an injury, Desormeaux is looking for players to step up Saturday.

Former LSU and Ole Miss forward Corey Chest is headed to Lake Charles to play for McNeese State. The 6-foot-8, 220 pound sophomore averaged 2.6 points and 3.8 rebounds for the Rebels this past season.

LSU wraps up spring football this week. The Tigers’ offense struggled for most of the spring but has started to find its rhythm over the past few practices. Coach Lane Kiffin says he’s seen significant improvement from the quarterback group in the last week.

LSU football received a verbal commitment Monday night from four-star athlete Braylon Calais (COL-ay) out of Cecilia High School. Calais, who grew up as a huge LSU fan, says he is excited to join what he believes is a special program being built by the new coaching staff.

The LSU baseball team earned a ten-to-seven victory over UNO last night to get back in the win column after three straight losses. Freshman William Patrick from Monroe will have an opportunity to play in right field now that Jake Brown is out for the season with a broken hamate bone in his wrist. Patrick started for Brown in right field in last night’s win and had an RBI double. Patrick on the advice he got from Brown…

ULM picked up a much-needed win last night after defeating Northwestern State 4-1. The Demons have now dropped six straight. The Warhawks will host James Madison this weekend.

Louisiana Tech dropped a 4-3 midweek contest to McNeese State last night. The Bulldogs left 15 runners on in the loss. Tech will host Missouri State this weekend.

A devastating blow to an LSU baseball team that’s already teetering as junior right fielder Jake Brown, is done for the season with a broken hamate bone. Brown, who is from Sulphur, has started every game this season in right field. The Tigers haven’t missed the postseason since 2011, but they now find themselves in real jeopardy of missing the NCAA Tournament, sitting at just 6-and-12 in SEC play. The typical mark to reach the postseason is around 13 conference wins, putting added pressure on LSU to pick up key victories down the stretch. Johnson still believes there’s a chance his team can turn things around.

The Tigers look to get back on track against UNO tonight at 6:30 p.m.

LSU men’s basketball coach Will Wade’s first transfer portal commitment is 6-foot-7, 220-pound small forward Mo Dioubate (dee-ah-BOT-Tay), from Kentucky. Dioubate has also played at Alabama, and between the two schools, he’s averaged six points and five rebounds a game for his career.

Louisiana Tech and Conference USA have reportedly reached a settlement in principle as Tech looks to join the Sun Belt Conference this summer. A previous report said Tech would pay CUSA more than 8 million dollars so they can join the Sun Belt for the 2026-27 athletic season.

ULM baseball has now dropped its last three Sun Belt series. The Warhawks lost two of three games to Arkansas State over the weekend and managed just six runs across the entire series. Coach Ford Pemberton says his team needs to get back to being more disciplined at the plate.

The LSU Tigers were swept for a second consecutive time in SEC play for the first time since 2021 as Texas A&M dominated the Bayou Bengals, outscoring them 22-8. Ole Miss swept LSU the weekend before in Oxford, and Coach Jay Johnson knew this part of the schedule would be difficult.

The Tigers will look to get back on track against New Orleans on Tuesday.

Louisiana Tech won its third straight Conference USA series as the Bulldogs took two of three from Kennesaw State. Tech won the rubber match yesterday four to three to improve to 11-and-7 in league play.

UL Lafayette dropped two of three games to Troy this weekend, surrendering 28 total runs in the series.

ULM baseball lost its third straight series, dropping two of three games to Arkansas State.

Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reports that former LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier underwent testing at the NFL Combine that revealed a cyst on his spine, which was the primary cause of the oblique pain that forced him to miss most of the 2025 season.

Pelissero adds that the cyst was pressing on a nerve, which caused the discomfort in Nussmeier’s oblique. There is a possibility he could undergo a minor procedure that would sideline him for 2–3 weeks while the stitches heal.

Doctors are confident the issue poses no short- or long-term risk for Nussmeier moving forward.

The LSU gymnastics team nearly won its second national championship in three years on Saturday, but Oklahoma performed extremely well on the floor to edge the Tigers by percentage points in Fort Worth, Texas. Coach Jay Clark says it was heck of an effort by his team…

The No. 2-seeded LSU gymnastics team is headed to its 11th national championship in program history after finishing second in Thursday’s NCAA Semifinals with a score of 197.4375.

It didn’t look promising for the Tigers heading into the final rotation after struggles on bars and beam, as they trailed No. 6 Georgia. However, a strong floor performance lifted LSU past the GymDogs.

Head coach Jay Clark said he’s proud of how his team stayed committed to the process despite the setbacks.

Cut 20 (10): “at the end.”

LSU received strong performances from Kailin Chio, Amari Drayton and Kaliya Lincoln on floor to help clinch a spot in the championship. The Tigers will compete for their second national title in three years when they take the floor against top-seeded Oklahoma, No. 3 seed Florida, and No. 15 seed Minnesota at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The LSU Tigers are looking to play better baseball this weekend as they host 10th ranked Texas A-and-M. In LSU’s recent wins, they’ve shown the ability to come from behind. but coach Jay Johnson doesn’t want to rely on late inning rallies to win.

The LSU baseball team secured another come-from-behind win, defeating Northwestern State 4-2 on Tuesday night. The Tigers trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning before junior outfielder Jake Brown delivered a three-run home run to put LSU ahead 4-2. Coach Jay Johnson says his team cannot continue putting itself in those situations.

The Tigers will host 10th-ranked Texas A&M this weekend.

One of the most competitive positions at LSU football practice this spring has been defensive tackle. Coach Lane Kiffin says true freshman Deuce Geralds, who leads the state of Georgia in all-time sacks, has stood out and believes he will be a productive player for the Tigers this season.

The Louisiana Tech baseball team picked up its seventh straight win on Tuesday night after beating Little Rock nine to three. Now that the Bulldogs have won seven straight, they head into this weekend’s series with a bigger target on their backs. Burroughs says his team just needs to stay humble and hungry going into their three-game series at Kennesaw State.

The 22nd-ranked LSU softball team no-hit UL Lafayette in its 8-0 run-rule win last night. The Cajuns fell to .500 on the season, and head coach Alyson Habetz, who also played at UL from 1990-95, was revved up after the embarrassing loss.

The Cajuns look to bounce back this weekend against Coastal Carolina.
