In Saint Tammany Parish, a Junior High school student has been arrested. A 13 year old girl admitted to having made a hit list, because she says she was being bullied by the students listed. The girl was issued a summons for Menacing and later released to her parents’ custody. Sheriff Randy Smith says the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office will continue to work with schools to investigate any and all threats to schools and students.

Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat says every poll has shown Landry with a big lead, which is making it hard for his competitors to raise money…

Treasurer John Schroder has $992 thousand in cash on hand. The main Democrat, former state transportation secretary Shawn Wilson reported $721 thousand in cash-on-hand, while Hunter Lundy has $827 thousand in cash on hand.

Republican Stephen Waguespack and  Slidell Senator Sharon Hewitt both reported under $300 thousand in cash on hand. Pinsonat says this puts Landry in a strong position for the runoff if there is one.

Landry received the backing of the state GOP before other Republicans jumped in the race and multiple endorsements followed. While polls report a runoff between Landry and Wilson, Pinsonat says Landry has a huge advantage in dollars over Wilson.

Congressman Steve Scalise is one of two top candidates to replace ousted Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy but there have been questions about his health as he receives treatment for Multiple Myeloma. Mark Ballard of the Advocate, is in DC, and believes Scalise’s health doesn’t appear to be an issue.
