After losing seven in a row, the Saints now have a two-game winning streak under interim coach Darren Rizzi as New Orleans defeated the Cleveland Browns 35 to 14. Taysom Hill had a huge game with 230 all-purpose yards, 138 rushing, 50 receiving and 18 passing…and scored three touchdowns, tying a career-high. It was also the first time since Ed Podolak (POE-do-lack) of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1971 that a player had three rushing touchdowns, 50 yards receiving and at least one passing completion. Hill said he’s honored to be mentioned in such elite company.

The Saints are now 4-and-7, have a bye this weekend, and host the Rams on December 1^st.

Joe Burrow threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns but the Bengals lost last night to the Chargers 34 to 27.

LSU has its first three-game losing streak since 2021 after losing to Florida 27 to 16. The Tigers no longer have a shot at playing for an SEC Championship or winning ten games this season. But Coach Brian Kelly still wants to end the season on a right note…

The LSU Tigers dropped their third straight game on Saturday losing to the Florida Gators 27 to 16. LSU won nearly every statistical category in the box score, but the Tigers only scored one touchdown and continued to give up big plays on defense. Coach Brian Kelly.

U-L Lafayette had a chance to clinch the Sun Belt West Title but was upset by South Alabama 24 to 22. The Jaguars own the tiebreaker if the two teams end up in a tie for first place in the West. The Cajuns host Troy this Saturday, while South Al visits Southern Miss.

Southern has won the SWAC Western Division title, while in the Southland, Southeastern Louisiana still has a shot at sharing the league title with U-I-W. But the Lions will need to beat Nicholls on Thursday in the River Bell Classic. The Colonels have lost three in a row after falling to Lamar 24 to 7.

The Nuss Bus will try to get back on track on Saturday when the Fighting Tigers visit the Florida Gators at 2:30. Nussmeier has turned it over six times over the last six quarters, but offensive tackle Emery Jones says Nuss still has a positive mindset…

Florida Coach Billy Napier says quarterback DJ Lagway will start at quarterback for the Gators after missing last week’s game with a hamstring injury.

In other college football action this Saturday, Louisiana Tech is at Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers are undefeated in Conference USA Play. Tulane visits Navy in a battle featuring two of the best teams in American Athletic Conference. ULM travels to Auburn. Grambling is at Alabama and A-and-M, Southern can win a SWAC west title with a win over Arkansas Pine Bluff.

And in the Southland…McNeese visits winless Northwestern State, Nicholls travels to Lamar. The Colonels have lost two in a row.

Saints starting center Erik McCoy is expected to return Sunday after missing seven games with a groin injury. McCoy says he will go up against a very good Cleveland Browns defensive line…

Best time of the year is underway in high school sports, as the football playoffs got underway last night with Evangel, Opelousas and Lake Charles College prep advancing.

Today’s top games include West Monroe at Parkway, Sam Houston visiting Zachary, Brother Martin hosting John Curtis and Buckeye will look for its first ever playoff win as they host Booker T Washington out of tNew Orleans.

The Ragin Cajuns can win a Sun Belt Conference Western Division championship tomorrow with a win over South Alabama. It would be U-L Lafayette’s fifth division title in seven years. The Cajuns were picked to finish third in the West, but Coach Michael Desormeaux says they expected to play in the Sun Belt Championship game…

Not a great game for Jayden Daniels last night as he threw for 191 yards, one touchdown pass and one interception as the Commanders lost to the Eagles in 26-18 in a battle for first place in the NFC East.

The LSU men’s basketball team got a nice win on the road last night beating Kansas State 76-65. Cam Carter had 20 points against his former school to lead the way.

LSU starting left guard Garrett Dellinger has been ruled out for Saturday’s game at Florida. It will be the second straight game Dellinger has missed since suffering an ankle injury against Texas A-and-M. Florida quarterback D-J Lagway and running back Montrell Johnson, a New Orleans native are questionable. Kick-off Saturday is at 2:30.

It’s been a disappointing season for Louisiana Tech, but linebacker Kolbe Fields has been a bright spot. The transfer from LSU leads the team in tackles, tackles for a loss and forced fumbles. Louisiana Tech men’s basketball improved to 3-and-0 yesterday as the Bulldogs defeated UMass 76 to 66. Sean Newman Junior had a season-high 14 points and career-high 12 assists.

It’s been a struggle for LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. He’s committed six turnovers over the last six quarters. But Coach Brian Kelly says they have not considered sitting Nussmeier….

Nussmeier was having a good season, until throwing three interceptions in the second half against Texas A-and-M on October 26^th. Nuss threw two more interceptions and lost a fumble against Alabama.

Heading into the season, Saints right tackle Trevor Penning was a big question mark, but he’s played well and interim Saints Coach Darren Rizzi says the former first round pick might have had his best game last week…

Nice win for Louisiana Tech men’s basketball last night as the Bulldogs defeated UMass 76 to 66 in Long Island, New York. Point guard Sean Newman junior led the way with a season high 14 points and a career-high 12 assists.

Rough game for the Ragin Cajuns last night as U-L Lafayette lost to eighth ranked Houston 91 to 45. U-L Lafayette turned it over 23 times.

LSU Coach Brian Kelly says Garrett Nussmeier is still the starting quarterback for the Tigers despite committing six turnovers over the last six quarters. The mistakes have contributed to the Tigers two-game losing streak,  but Kelly says they have not considered making a change at quarterback…

Meanwhile, Florida coach Billy Napier says quarterback DJ Lagway is getting better and progressing towards playing against the Tigers on Saturday.

Saints linebacker Pete Werner did not practice yesterday because of a hand injury. Coach Darren Rizzi is hopeful Werner can play this Sunday against the Browns. Werner missed three games earlier this season because of a hamstring injury. In the seven games he’s appeared in, Werner has 43 tackles.

The Pelicans lost their sixth straight last night as they fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 106 to 88.

Eighth ranked Houston ran the Ragin Cajuns out of the gym beating U-L Lafayette 91 to 45.

Louisiana Tech improved to 3-and-0 with a 76 to 66 win over U-Mass. The Bulldogs had five players in double figures led by Amaree Abram had 19 points.

LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has struggled the last two games with turnovers. He’s thrown five interceptions and lost a fumble over the last six quarters, but Coach Brian Kelly there’s been no discussion about benching him. He says the coaching staff will continue to work Nussmeier, especially his foot work, and they’ll also try to make it easier for Nuss to go through his progressions…

LSU is at Florida on Saturday. Gators Coach Billy Napier says quarterback DJ Lagway is trending in the right direction play against the Tigers. Lagway injured his hamstring a couple of weeks ago and didn’t play last week against Texas.

Nine players were listed on the Saints injury report today ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Lucas Patrick, Pete Werner, and Jamaal Williams did not practice. Cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry and center Erik McCoy were limited, but there’s optimism they will play on Sunday.

Even though LSU has two SEC losses, the Tigers still have a 16-percent of chance getting to the SEC Championship game according to ESPN. But a more realistic goal is to finish with another ten win seasons. Kelly says there’s also still plenty of time for development…

The Tigers are 22 in the College Football Playoff Rankings. Tulane is 25 and the Green Wave can make a statement by beating Navy this Saturday.

Airline High receiver Kenny Darby has committed to LSU. He’s a three-star recruit in the Class of 2026. Darby also has offers from Ole Miss, Missouri, Texas A-and-M and Florida State.

The ULM Warhawks enter this Saturday’s football game against Auburn on a three-game losing streak. Coach Bryant Vincent says his team is going through a tough time, but they still have the potential to finish with a winning record

ULM basketball concluded a three-game road trip by losing to Rice 66 to 50.

Tonight the Ragin Cajuns are in Houston to face the eighth ranked Houston Cougars. U-L Lafayette is looking for its first win against a ranked team since 2002.

The Pelicans are at Oklahoma City. Add key reserve Jose Alvardo to the injury list. He’ll miss six weeks with a hamstring injury.
