On Thursday night, LSU hit three home runs to beat Alabama. Last night, the Tigers relied on their pitching to win a second straight game over the Crimson Tide. LSU-Shreveport set an N-A-I-A record for longest winning streak in history as they won their 42^nd straight game last night, Houston Victoria 11 to 1. Austin Gomm drove in five runs as the Pilots improved to 42-0.

The Ragin Cajuns won in extra innings on Thursday night, but Old Dominion responded with a walk-off win over U-L Lafayette on Friday as the Monarchs won six to five. The Cajuns committed three errors and the final run was unearned.

ULM lost to 20^th ranked Troy 11 to 1. Liberty knocked off Louisiana Tech five to three. Texas A-and-M Corpus Christi topped McNeese 13 to 5. Clay Jung hit a walk-off RBI double as Northwestern State defeated Lamar two to one in ten innings.  Stephen F Austin defeated Nicholls seven to five, Southeastern Louisiana clobbered UT Rio Grande Valley 12 to one and Grambling over Alcorn State 22 to 7.

ULM softball rallied back from a three-run deficit to beat Georgia Southern nine to six to improve to 21-and-0 at home. Ninth ranked LSU softball defeated third ranked Texas six to one. Tori Edwards hit her 16 home run of the season.

The Ninth ranked LSU baseball team will try to win its 20^th straight home game tonight as they host 15^th ranked Alabama. Last night the Tigers rallied from a four-run deficit to beat Alabama 11 to 6. Ashton Larson in just his second SEC at bat of the season, blasted a three-run homer to cut the deficit to one. Steven Milam’s also hit a three-run home run to give LSU the lead for good.

ULM softball is now 20-and-0 at home after beating Georgia Southern one to nothing last night. Victoria Abrams pitched a complete game shutout. The Warhawks are in second place, a game out of first place.

LSU Shreveport is trying to improve to 42-and-0 today as they host 15^th ranked Houston Victoria.

In the NFL…Ryan Ramczyk is calling it a career at the age of 30. He was a three-time All-Pro tackle for the Saints. His career cut short because of a knee injury.

Tough ending to the season for LSU gymnastics as they failed to reach the NCAA Championship Finals. The Tigers had a shaky performance in the semis and needed to finish in the top two in last night’s session, but they finished third. It turned out to be the final meet for Haleigh Bryant, who goes down as the best gymnast in LSU history. The five-time SEC champ and last year’ s national all-around champion says it’s hard to say good-bye

Three Louisiana baseball teams had great come from behind victories last night. The Fighting Tigers trailed five to one to Alabama, but Ashton Larson and Steven Milam each hit three-run home runs and the Tigers won 11 to 6 at Alex Box Stadium.

Louisiana Tech blew a four-to nothing lead, but scored three runs in the ninth inning to beat Liberty seven to six. Coach Lane Burroughs on the thrilling win…

Big win for the Cajuns last night as well as U-L scored two runs in the ninth and one in the tenth to beat Old Dominion six to five. Game 2 is at 2 PM today.

The ULM softball team improved to 20-0 at home with a 1 to nothing win over Georgia Southern.

The top ranked LSU gymnastics team falls short of reaching the NCAA Championships as they struggled to hit on many of their routines in the semifinals and will not have a chance at defending its title. Coach Jay Clark says a great season ends in disappointment

What a win for the ninth-ranked LSU baseball team last night as they rallied from a four-run deficit to beat 15th-ranked Alabama 11 to six. Ashton Larson started the rally with a three-run pinch-hit home run, Steven Milam gave LSU the lead with another three-run homer, and Ethan Frey had a two-run blast. Casan Evans was dominant out of the bullpen in getting the win. Evans says it was a great victory after getting swept last weekend…

LSU has won 19 straight home games, and host Bama again tonight at 6 PM.

Louisiana Tech had a dramatic victory last night as Eli Berch’s walk-off single gave the Bulldogs a seven to six win over Liberty. Tech scored three runs in the ninth to win.

The Cajuns won in ten innings last night, tying the game with two runs in the ninth, and then Drew Markle drove in the go-ahead run in the tenth inning in a six-to-five win over Old Dominion.

ULM lost to 20^th ranked Troy nine to three, Grambling beat Alcorn 21 to 4, Southeastern, Nicholls, and McNeese all won, while Northwestern lost.

LSU gymnastics will not repeat as national champs, as they failed to advance out of the NCAA Championship semifinals. The Tigers could not consistently hit on their routines.

Spring football is over for LSU, and defensive end Gabriel Reliford is looking forward to his sophomore season…

Coach Jay Johnson’s team was swept last weekend in Auburn, while Bama has lost its last two weekend series, falling to Auburn and Mississippi State.

After losing a series at U-L-M last weekend, the Ragin Cajuns are back on the road taking on Old Dominion. The Monarchs are 7-8 in the Sun Belt, while the Cajuns are 8-7.

ULM is now 5-10 in league play as they’ve won three in row, but they have a tough series at Troy. The Trojans are 10-5.

If one New Orleans-area lawmaker has his way, there will be no more afternoon games at LSU in September.

ESPN says Lee Corso will do one more College Gameday on August 30^th and then retire. The 89-year-old Corso has been on College Gameday for nearly four decades and is an icon for wearing the headgear of mascots. He’s made 430 mascot headgear picks, selecting LSU 25 times, third most behind Ohio State and Alabama.

The ninth ranked LSU baseball team opens a three-game series against 15th ranked Alabama. The Tigers are 10-5 in the SEC and the Crimson Tide is 8-and-7 in league play. LSU Coach Jay Johnson says Bama has one of the best power hitters in the country in Justin Lebron.

Louisiana Tech begins a three-game series against Liberty tonight. The Bulldogs are  a half game out of first place in Conference USA.

Two of the top teams in the Southland meet in Hammond tonight as Southeastern hosts UTRGV.  The Lions team ERA is 3.33, fourth best in the nation.

The Pelicans will introduce Joe Dumars as its new executive vice president of basketball operations at a press conference on Tuesday. Host of the Locked on Pelicans podcast, Jake Madison, expects Dumars will retain Willie Green as the head coach, but former number one overall pick Zion Williamson could be traded because of his inability to stay healthy.

ESPN announced today that Lee Corso will make his final appearance on College Gameday on August 30^th. Corso will turn 90-years-old in August and he’s been with ESPN since 1987. College Gameday personality helped make the show popular with his headgear picks at the end of every show. With LSU opening the season at Clemson, a potential Top 10 matchup, there’s a possibility Gameday will be at Clemson.

After spending the last two weekends on the road, the 9^th ranked LSU baseball team opens a three-game series tonight against 15^th ranked Alabama at Alex Box Stadium. LSU pitcher Connor Benge says there is no place like home…

Louisiana Tech begins a nine-game homestand tonight by hosting Liberty. The Bulldogs are 8-and-3 in league play, a half game back of Western Kentucky. The Flames are 5-and-7 in league play.

In the Sun Belt, the Ragin Cajuns are at Old Dominion, while ULM looks for its fourth straight win tonight and the Warhawks are at Troy. The Trojans are 10-5 in the Sun Belt.

IN the Southland…McNeese hosts A-and-M Corpus Christi, while Southeastern hosts UTRGV.

The Pelicans have hired Natchitoches native Joe Dumars as their executive director of basketball operations. Dumars was the President of Basketball Operations in Detroit when the Pistons won an NBA title in 2004. But a lot of his draft picks flopped, his free agent signings fizzled and some of his trades did not pan out. But Jake Madison, Host of the Locked on Pelicans Podcast, says the NBA Hall of Famer is respected around the league…

Tonight at 8:00 the top-seeded LSU gymnastics team competes in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships. There are eight teams left, and LSU will participate in the semifinal number two against Utah, UCLA and Michigan State. If LSU can finish in the top two, they will advance to Saturday’s championship meet.

LSU pitcher Gavin Guidry will not pitch this season as he’ll undergo back surgery on Friday. The Lake Charles native hurt his back in February and has not thrown a single inning this year. Coach Jay Johnson says treatments and medicine did not work…

LSU women’s basketball has signed Amiya Joyner out of the transfer portal. In three seasons at East Carolina. The six-foot-two senior forward averaged 13 points and ten rebounds a game.

The good news for LSU, young pitchers are starting to step up. Freshman Mavrick Rizy pitched two-and-two-thirds innings last night and struck out six hit, allowing one hit and no runs.

ULM won its third straight as the Warhawks defeated Louisiana Tech eight to three. Nicholls knocked off Jackson State 14 to 6. Tough loss for Southeastern Louisiana as the Lions saw a six-game winning streak come to an end with an eight to seven loss to Southern Mills. The Golden Eagles scored four runs in the ninth to win. Northwestern State blanked LSU Alexandria three to nothing.

The ninth-ranked LSU baseball team ended McNeese’s nation-leading 12-game winning streak last night with a ten-to-three victory. Jared Jones busted out of a mini-slump by hitting his 12^th home run. Jones had three hits and drove in three runs. After the game Jay Johnson announced pitcher Gavin Guidry will undergo season ending back surgery.

ULM won its third straight beating Louisiana Tech eight to three. The Warhawks scored five runs in the third inning to take control of the game. 23rd-ranked Southern Miss scored four runs in the ninth inning to beat Southeastern Louisiana eight to seven. Northwestern State blanked L-S-U Alexandria three-zip. And Mississippi State clobbered Southern 16 to 2.

The LSU women’s basketball team has signed six-foot-two Amiya Joyner out of the transfer portal. Joyner averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds a game at East Carolina last season. She has one year of eligibility left.

LSU football coach Brian Kelly has made his first public comments since the tragic death of former Tigers receiver Kyren Lacy. Kelly said Lacy was a bright star and loved being a Tiger. Lacy caught 112 passes and had 16 touchdowns during his three-year LSU career. He died on Saturday in an apparent suicide.

Meanwhile, the LSU football team is finishing up spring practice this week. Oklahoma transfer Nic Anderson was slowed by an injury earlier in the spring, but Kelly says he’s getting healthy, and the coach is excited about his potential…
