The Pelicans built a 27 point lead last night and held on to beat the Chicago Bulls 125 to 119. Zion Williamson had 21 points on nine of 11 shooting, J-J Redick added 18 points and All-Star Brandon Ingram had 15 points in 21 minutes. He rolled his right ankle and left in the third quarter. New Orleans is at Indiana on Saturday.

La Tech men’s basketball had a rough game in Bowling Green, Kentucky last night and lost to Western Kentucky 65-54. The Bulldogs trailed by as many as 22 points in this game.

The Ragin Cajuns also trailed by double digits last night but came back to beat Georgia State 80 to 78. Freshman Mylik Wilson had the winning bucket, a driving layup with two seconds left. Cedric Russell had 17 points.

ULM lost its ninth straight as the Warhawks fell Georgia Southern 67-65.

The 18th ranked LSU leaves today for a big game Saturday morning against 11th ranked Auburn, who has just two losses on the season. Coach Will Wade’s team will need to win to stay in sole possession of first place in the SEC. Louisiana Tech will face Conference USA foe Western Kentucky at 8 PM in a game that will be televised on the C-B-S Sports Network. The Bulldogs are 8-and-2, tied for first place in the league, and riding a four-game winning streak. Western Kentucky was the preseason favorite to win the league and they re in third place in the standings with a 7-and-3 record.

LSU basketball is in first place in the SEC, but they lost last night to last place Vanderbilt 99-90. That snapped a 26-game losing streak for the Commodores. The Tigers have a big game this Saturday at Auburn.

The basketball team with the worst record in the SEC beat the team with the best record from the league as Vanderbilt upset the Tigers 99 to 90 last night to snap the Commodores 26-game losing streak in the Southeastern Conference. LSU didn’t play much defense as they allowed Saben Lee and Maxwell Evans to combine to score 64 points. Third-year coach Will Wade says it’s as disappointing a game he’s been a part of at LSU. Freshman forward Trendon Watford led the Tigers with a career-high 26 points.

McNeese, Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls also lost last night. The only Louisiana team to win was Northwestern State who defeated Abilene Christian 73-69. The Demons are now 6-and-6 in the Southland.

In action tonight, Georgia Southern visits ULM, the Cajuns host Georgia State, while Louisiana Tech is at Western Kentucky.
