LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte will not play in tomorrow night’s game against New Mexico as his girlfriend gave birth to their first child last night. Kelly says expect to see Jack Bech and Malik Nabers as the slot receivers, Kyren Lacy playing boundary receiver and Chris Hilton as the X receiver and Brian Thomas rotating in.

It is expected true freshmen Will Campbell and Emery Jones will start again at the two offensive tackle spots on Saturday. Center Charles Turner says both of them played really well last week as starters…

Saints cornerback Pauslon Adebo is hoping to make his season debut this Sunday against Carolina. The second year defensive back missed the first two games of the season because of an ankle injury. Adebo was limited at practice yesterday.

ULM welcomes the Ragin Cajuns to Malone Stadium on Saturday for the Sun Belt opener. UL-Lafayette was picked to win the Sun Belt’s West Division, while the Warhawks were picked to finish last in the West. ULM Coach Terry Bowden’s team is not hiding the fact of who has the more talented team…

Southeastern Louisiana kicks-off Southland play by hosting U-I-W fourth ranked U-I-W at Strawberry Stadium. The Cardinals have won the last four meetings.

Looks like Northwestern State is making a quarterback change for its Southland opener against Lamar at 3:30 in Turpin Stadium. Based on the Demons depth chart, Zachary Clement will get the start over Miles Fallin.

The NCAA has placed LSU’s football program on one year of probation and former LSU offensive line coach James Cregg was given a three year show cause for improper recruiting violations. That means it will be hard for him to find a job over the next three years in college football. The NCAA has determined Cregg gave a recruit team gear during a COVID-19 dead period for visiting recruits. LSU will pay a self-imposed five-thousand dollar fine and the number of official recruiting visits will be limited to 55.

Saints quarterback Jamies Winston is still struggling with ongoing back injuries that may continue to hinder him throughout the rest of the season. Winston suffered four fractures in his back in week one against the Falcons but he isn’t focusing on the pain.

Rookie wide receiver Chris Olave had five receptions for 80 yards in the loss but was targeted thirteen times including multiple deep shots of which only one connected. Winston praised the rookie’s route-running ability and maturity and says he needs to be more accurate on those throws down the field.

LSU Football Coach Brian Kelly said today he wants to get wide receiver Jack Bech more involved in Saturday’s game against New Mexico. So far Beche only has two catches in three games, after leading the team in receptions with 43 catches for 489 yards and three touchdowns last season.

The Tigers game against the Lobos is at 6:30 and Kelly says he’s looking forward to seeing what running back John Emery can do after making his 2022 debut last Saturday…

The Saints returned to practice to get ready for Sunday’s game against Carolina. Running back Alvin Kamara was a limited participant after missing the loss to the Buccaneers because of a rib injury. Cornerback Paulson Adebo was also limited with an ankle injury that’s kept him out the first two games of the season.

Lousiaina Tech lost to Clemson last weekend 48-20 but the Bulldogs showed they can be winners away from the football field. The Clemson football program has been grieving over the death of 15-year-old Ella Bresee, the sister of Tigers defensive tackle Brian Bresee. Before Saturday’s game, Tech players decided to write hand written letters to Bresee’s family to offer their sorrow and some words of encouragement. LSU has released its 2023 football schedule. The Tigers will kick-off the season against Florida State in Orlando on a Sunday night during Labor Day weekend. Instead of playing Arkansas in November, LSU will host the Razorbacks on September 23rd and the Tigers will host Florida a week after visiting Alabama on November fourth.

LSU hosts New Mexico this Saturday and then they travel to Auburn for a six PM kick-off. Auburn starting quarterback T-J Finley is not expected to play Saturday against Missouri because of a sprained throwing shoulder. Finley has thrown four interceptions in the first three games of the season.

It does not appear Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore will be suspended for his role in Sunday’s fight with Buccaneer players Mike Evans and Leonard Fournette. Evans has been suspended for one game. Lattimore got into a physical altercation after he was shoved by Fournette and then Evans shoved Lattimore to the ground. Coach Dennis Allen told Lattimore he should not retaliate

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Evans is appealing his one-game suspension and a hearing was held today.

After losing to Captain Shreve, Union Parish is no longer ranked number one in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 3A poll. E-D White has moved to the top spot. Karr is now ranked number one in Five-A, after Zachary fell to St. Augustine.

LSU started its third different offensive line on Saturday as true freshman Emery Jones got the start at right tackle. The o-line as a whole struggled with some pre-snap penalties and Coach Brian Kelly says too much thinking may be taking place…

LSU hosts New Mexico State at 6:30 this Saturday. The Auburn game on October 1st will kick off at 6 PM.

Cajuns Coach Michael Desormeaux says he’ll continue to use the same rotation at quarterback for this Saturday’s Sun Belt opener at ULM. Chandler Fields and Ben Wooldridge combined to threw for 102 yards in a loss to Rice on Saturday. Fields is the starter and Wooldrigde is playing every third series series or so.

The NFL has suspended Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Evans for one game after his fight with Saints cornerback Marcus Lattimore. Lattimore will not be suspended but could be fined. It’s second time Evans has been suspended for one game, because of an altercation with Lattimore.

The Saints defense did all they could to keep New Orleans in that game against Tampa Bay on Sunday as the offense struggled to score ten points. But the Black and Gold defense could not put pressure on Quarterback Tom Brady and through two games, the Saints defense has just one sack. Coach Dennis Allen is not worried…
