Saturday night in the Swamp saw a breakout performance by the LSU Tigers offense as they defeated the Florida Gators 45-35. Quarterback Jayden Daniels accounted for six touchdowns and preseason All-American Kayshon Boutte had his best game of the season, six catches for 115 yards. Coach Brian Kelly says Boutte prepared well for the game and he was named a gameday captain….

Kansas State transfer Tyrone Howell had a huge game in Mobile on Saturday night as he caught nine passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns but it was not enough to help ULM beat South Alabama as the Jaguars won 41-34. It’s the first 200-yard receiving performance by a ULM player since Marty Booker did in 1996 against UCF.

The Saints were in position to get a big win at home over the Bengals on Sunday, but Louisiana legends Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase broke the hearts of Who Dat Nation. New Orleans led by nine points late in the third quarter, but Burrow and Chase connected on two touchdown passes as Cincinnati rallied for a 30-26 win in New Orleans. The Saints had five trips in the red zone, but only scored one touchdown, while the Bengals scored TDs on their three trips to the red zone. New Orleans is now 2-and-4 and will visit the Cardinals this Thursday. Arizona is also 2-and-4.

The LSU offense finally had its break out performance offensively in the Tigers 45-35 win over the Florida Gators in Gainesville. Quarterback Jayden Daniels accounted for six touchdowns, three rushing, and three throwing as he had 349 passing yards. Coach Brian Kelly says he liked that Daniels was aggressive…

LSU will host seventh ranked Ole Miss this Saturday.

Tulane is ranked 25th in the A-P and Coaches polls. It’s the first time the Green Wave have been ranked since 1998 when they went 12-0.

Northwestern State is 3-0 in the Southland play for the first time since 2002 as the Demons defeated Houston Christian 37-10.

LSU Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Joe Burrow returns to the Superdome this Sunday as his Cincinnati Bengals visit the New Orleans Saints. Last time in the Dome, Burrow threw for 463 yards and five touchdowns in LSU’s win over Clemson to complete a perfect 15-0 season and a national title.

After the game, he lit up a cigar as he enjoyed a smoke while sitting on a couch. Burrow was asked what he remembers the most from the celebration in the locker room…

The Pelicans lost a preseason game in Miami last night as the Heat defeated the Pels 120-to-102. Zion Williamson tweaked his ankle, but it’s not considered serious. New Orleans wraps up the preseason tomorrow in Birmingham, where they’ll face the Atlanta Hawks.

The Ragin Cajuns snapped a three-game losing streak last night and picked up their first Sun Belt win of the season as they defeated Marshall 23-13. Ben Wooldridge played the entire game at quarterback and looked good, throwing for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, the Cajuns had a season five sacks as they even their record at 3-and-3.

The 2-and-4 ULM Warhawks are a 17-point underdog this Saturday at South Alabama. Despite the losing record, Quarterback Chandler Rogers is having a good season. He’s completed nearly 70-percent of his passes for 1,066 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. Coach Terry Bowden likes how Rogers plays the game…

Saints Quarterback Jameis Winston practiced for the first time in over two weeks yesterday as he continues to recover from back and ankle injuries. But New Orleans remains very short-handed at the wide receiver position as Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry and Deonte Harris all did not participate in yesterday’s practice.

New Orleans is preparing to face Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow’s last game in the Superdome was his 463-yard passing performance to beat Clemson in the College football national championship game.

Cincinnati wide receiver JaMarr Chase was a big part of that 2019 LSU national championship team. It will be a homecoming for him as he’s from Harvey. Burrow says he hasn’t really talked with Chase about their return to Louisiana……
