The NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reports Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker is visiting with the Saints today. Hooker threw for over three-thousand yards and completed nearly 70=percent of his passes last season, before an ACL injury late in the year. Hooker also threw 27 touchdown passes and two interceptions in 11 starts and could be avialable when the Saints pick with the 29th selection in the first round.

Jerry Arledge is stepping down as West Monroe High School’s head fooball coach. Arledge has been on West Monroe’s sidelines for 31 seasons and was the defensive coordinator when the school won eight state titles from 1992 to 2012. KNOE-TV Sports Director Aaron Dietrich says it’s the end of an era.

The Saints will reportedly meet with Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker today. Hooker is recovering from a torn ACL and is expected to be available late in the first round of the NFL draft when New Orleans picks.

West Monroe Head football coach Jerry Arledge is stepping down as head coach after 10 seasons. KNOE-TV Sports Director Aaron Dietrich says Arledge went 103-22 during that time…

The LSU Lady Tigers returned to Baton Rouge today as national champions in women’s basketball. LSU had five players score in double figures in a 102-85 win over Iowa. The 102 points are the most scored in an NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship game.

The historic performance is being overshadowed on the national stage by Angel Reese’s celebration that had her waving her hand in front of her face like John Cena and his “You can’t see me gesture.” Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark did the same thing during the Hawkeyes Elite Eight victory over Louisville.

Many on social media called it poor sportsmanship, but Reese says all year she was critiqued about who she is…

LSU announced today they will have a parade on campus and then a celebration in the PMAC on Wednesday night for the national champs.

LSU baseball remains ranked number one in all of the polls, despite a 14-7 loss to Tennessee on Saturday. In that game, Center fielder Dylan Crews continued to swing a hot bat as he had four more hits and for the season he has an astonishing .543 batting average. Crews expects the Tigers will rebound…

Big news in high school football as Jerry Arledge is stepping down as the head coach of the West Monroe Rebels and will become the school’s athletic director. Arledge was at West Monroe for 31 seasons helping the Rebels win eight state titles from 1992 to 2012 as the defensive coordinator for the late Don Shows.

That’s the longtime voice of LSU women’s basketball Patrick Wright, on the LSU Sports Radio Network as the Lady Tigers defeated Iowa 102 to 85 to win the school’s first championship in basketball. Total team effort as five players scored in double figures.

Angel Reese had 15 points and ten rebounds, giving her an NCAA record 34th double-double for the season.

But Twitter blew up when she gave John Cena’s can’t see me gesture to Iowa star player Caitlin Clark. Reese is unapologetic for how she acts on the court…

Despite losing to Tennessee 14-to-7 on Saturday, LSU remains ranked number one in the major college baseball polls. The top ranked Tigers still took two out of three from Tennessee. The Volunteers are ranked 11th in the D-1 baseball poll.

Up next for LSU, it’s a home game tomorrow night against Nicholls and then they’ll travel to sixth ranked South Carolina. The Gamecocks are 8-and-1 in the SEC. LSU Coach Jay Johnson says the SEC is absolutely loaded this year…

The LSU Lady Tigers are national champs of women’s basketball. It was a team effort for LSU as they scored a championship record 102 points in a 102-85 win over Iowa at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Five players were in double figures led by Jasmine Carson who scored 22 points and hit seven three-pointers in the first half. Alexis Morris had 19 of her 21 points in the second half. Angel Reese a double-double, 15 points and 10 rebounds. LaDazhia Williams had 20 points and freshman Flau-jae Johnson had 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

For Tickfaw native Kim Mulkey, this is her fourth national championship as a head coach. Mulkey says she left Baylor to win a national title in her home state…

The Ragin Cajuns avoided a sweep with a six to nothing win over Appalachian State yesterday. Cooper Rawls improved to 6-and-0 on the season by throwing 5.2 innings of shutout baseball. Julian Brock hit a grand slam.

ULM and Louisiana Tech dropped two out of three.

Nicholls took two of three from Lamar. Northwestern State won its series against UNO. Southeastern and McNeese lost their series. Grambling swept Arkansas Pine Bluff.

The top-ranked LSU baseball team took care of ninth-ranked Tennessee again last night as the Bayou Bengals beat the Volunteers six to four to win the second game of the series. LSU took the lead for good in the fourth inning with back-to-back home runs from Brady Neal and Gavin Dugas (Doo-gahs). LSU goes for the sweep this afternoon at 1 PM.

Louisiana Tech downed Dallas Baptist five to two. Jonathan Fincher struck out seven in six innings for his fifth win of the year.

The Cajuns lost to Appalachian State three to two, and ULM remains winless in the Sun Belt play as they fell to Marshall 13-6.

McNeese crushed Houston Christian 15 to 5, Southeastern Louisiana knocked off UIW 10 to 2, Northwestern outscored UNO eleven to eight and Nicholls outlasted Lamar nine to eight in 19 innings.

Tonight the Pelicans host the Clippers. New Orleans has won six of its last seven.

The top ten matchup between LSU and Tennessee lived up to the hype last night as the Fighting Tigers pulled out a five to two victory over the Volunteers in front of a record 13-thousand fans at Alex Box. Jordan Thompson’s three-run double with two outs in the eighth inning snapped a two-two tie. Garrett Edwards was the winning pitcher, getting the final five outs and Paul Skenes struck out 12 in seven innings.

The Pelicans close out a four-game road trip tonight in Denver. The Nuggets have the best record in the Western Conference while the Pelicans are in ninth place in the West fighting for a spot in the play-in tournament with six games left in the regular season. Tip off time is at 9 PM.
