Reports confirm the Pels view the 19-year-old guard as a franchise player, but it’s unclear if the organization would be willing to give up one of its young stars for potentially another. Williamson was drafted in 2019 and showed flashes of All-NBA caliber play but has held the team back by missing most of his young career with injury. New Orleans could also look to retain Williamson by instead moving all-star forward Brandon Ingram or a package of future first-round picks and young players. The NBA Draft is set for June 22.
