New Orleans has a short week as they will host Jacksonville on Thursday. The Jaguars easily defeated the Colts 37-20 to improve to 4-and-2.

LSU put it all together on Saturday night as the Fighting Tigers trounced the Auburn Tigers 48-18 in Death Valley. Another big night for Jayden Daniels as he threw for 325 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 93 yards. LSU scored on eight of its ten possessions and Daniels was asked after the game if he gets mad when they don’t score…

The Bayou Bengals moved up to number 19 in the AP Poll. and Tulane is back in the Top 25 after a come from behind 31-21 win over Memphis. The Green WAve hosts North Texas this Saturday for homecoming.

ULM suffered another heartbreaking loss on Saturday, falling to Texas State in the final minute 21-20.

LSU is back in Tiger Stadium on Saturday night as the Bayou Bengals will host Auburn. The Fighting Tigers enter the game ranked 121st in pass defense, while Auburn is 119th in pass offense. Auburn has decided to be more of a run team in Hugh Freeze’s first season at the helm. Kick off is at 6 PM.

While this game is ongoing, safety Greg Brooks is at St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, as he continues to get treatment following surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his brain. Coach Brian Kelly says they are inspired by the support Brooks has received nationally. He says Brooks’ unfortunate situation has also provided the players an important lesson…

After getting blown out 55-7 on their home field last Saturday, ULM will look to get a win on the road Saturday night as they visit Texas State. The Warhawks beat the Bobcats last season 31-30, rallying back from a one point deficit. Kick off from San Marcos is at 6:02.

It’s homecoming for Grambling on Saturday as the Tigers will host Alabama A-and-M at 2 PM. The Tigers are coming off a tough one point loss to Alcorn State. Grambling lost to Alabama A-and-M in double overtime last year.

It’s also homecoming for Southeastern Louisiana. The Lions are looking to turn around a disappointing season as they host Lamar at 3 PM at Strawberry Stadium on Saturday. S-L-U is still looking for its first win of the season.

The Saints are looking for their second consecutive win on the road on Sunday as they visit the Houston Texans. Offensive guard Andrus Peat, who missed last week’s win with a concussion now has a groin strain and it’s questionable whether he’ll play Sunday.

Tomorrow’s Nicholls-Northwestern State game has been canceled as the Demons are mourning the death of one of their football players. Safety Ronnie Caldwell was shot multiple times and at an apartment complex near campus. His killer is on the run.

The Saints will be in Houston on Sunday to take on the Texans. In five games, New Orleans has scored just seven touchdowns. Quarterback Derek Carr believes the offense took steps in the right direction last week, it will need to continue on Sunday against a tough Texans defense…

Former Saints Coach Sean Payton is off to a 1-and-5 start in Denver as the Broncos lost again to the Chiefs 19-8 last night. Payton is not completely in the dumps….

Saturday’s Northwestern State-Nicholls game has been canceled because a Demons player was fatally shot during the overnight hours. Safety Ronald Caldwell was killed and police in Natchitoches are still searching for the gunman. Caldwell was injured and had not appeared in a game this year. He made ten starts last season.

LSU now has sophomore Harold Perkins playing as a strongside linebacker that calls for him to play as a nickel back in passing situations. LSU defensive back Sage Ryan is impressed with Perkins’ versatility…

The Saints are having trouble getting their ground game going. They average just 97 yards a game on the ground. But running back Alvin Kamara believes its just a matter of time….

The Saints showed progress last week as they rushed for 136 yards against the Patriots. This Sunday, New Orleans will be at Houston. The Texans are allowing just four yards a carry.

The Pelicans play the Rockets in Birmingham tonight. The starters are expected to play about 20 minutes.

Louisiana Tech men’s basketball has been picked to finish fourth in Conference USA behind preseason favorite Liberty, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky. Bulldogs Isaiah Crawford has been named the league’s preseason player of the year.

Former LSU star and Philadelphia pitcher Aaron Nola allowed two runs over 5.2 innings as the Phillies beat Atlanta 10 to 2 to take a two games to one lead in the N-L-D-S.

And the Astros are heading to the American League Championship Series for a seventh consecutive season after topping the Twins three to two. The A-L-C-S will between Houston and Texas will begin Sunday in Space City.

Saints quarterback Derek Carr was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, a sign he’s over the sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder. Offensive guard Andrus Peat was also a full participant after missing last Sunday’s game with a concussion. But Chris Olave and Cameron Jordan were limited at practice because of injuries. Olave has a toe injury, and Jordan’s back is bothering him.

In a rare Tuesday night game, Louisiana Tech fell to Middle Tennessee 31-23 in Conference USA action. The Bulldogs are now 3-5 on the season and 2-2 on conference play. They’ll be back in action on Tuesday, October 24th hosting New Mexico State in another nationally televised game.

LSU is set to take on Auburn this Saturday in Death Valley. The Purple and Gold have one of the best offenses in college football, but it’s not just Jayden Daniels and the passing game. Logan Diggs has established himself as one of the top running backs in the SEC, rushing for over 100 yards in the last two games. Coach Brian Kelly:

It’s a Tuesday night, but Louisiana Tech football is in action tonight as they visit Middle Tennessee State in a Conference USA game that will be televised by CBS Sports Network. The Bulldogs are trying to get to 3-1 in Conference USA play.

The Pelicans host the Magic for their preseason opener tonight. It will be a rare sight as Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum are all healthy and expected to play.

It could be legal to hunt black bears in this state soon. The Louisiana Wildlife Commission will hold a hearing next month and possibly vote on establishing a bear hunting season. . After being on the endangered species list, Commission member Joe McPherson says it will be a limited hunt so not many animals will be taken initially.

Louisiana Tech plays a rare Tuesday night football game tonight at six PM. It’s the first time they’ve played on a Tuesday since 2010. The Bulldogs are at Middle Tennessee. The Blue Raiders are 1-and-5 and suffered losses to Alabama, Missouri, Western Kentucky and Colorado State. Tech is trying to bounce back after a 35-28 home loss to Western Kentucky last Thursday.

After playing two straight games on the road, LSU returns to Tiger Stadium this Saturday to face the Auburn Tigers. The game marks the start of the second half of the season and Coach Brian Kelly says his team is very much in the hunt to repeat as SEC West champs

The 34 points scored by the Saints in a shutout win over New England ends a streak of 10 straight games of not scoring more than 21 points in a game.
