No Zion Williamson tomorrow night for the Pelicans and he’ll miss at least the next two weeks after injuring his hamstring in Tuesday night’s loss against the Lakers. New Orleans needs to beat Sacramento tomorrow night or its season is over. The Pels are 5-0 against the Kings, but New Orleans has also struggled at home this season. Tip off is at 8:30 PM.

For the second straight night, the 14th ranked U-L Lafayette baseball team defeated Southeastern Louisiana. Last night the final score in Hammond was eight to one. Conor Higgs hit two solo home runs and the Cajuns are at Coastal Carolina this weekend.

The LSU gymnastics squad will compete in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships today at 3:30 in Fort Worth, Texas as the Tigers are in search of the program’s first national championship. This might be the school’s most talented team. Coach Jay Clark…

LSU is 3-and-12 in the SEC and can not afford to lose another SEC series and still make the NCAA Tournament.

In transfer portal news…LSU tight end Connor Gilbreath has entered the transfer portal. Also speedy freshman wide receiver Khai Prean is also leaving LSU.

The Lady Tigers are looking for a point guard in the transfer portal after losing Hailey Van Lith and Angelica Velez to the transfer portal. Van Lith and Velez’s departure leaves LSU with just two point guards on its roster.

The Pelicans say Zion Williamson injured his hamstring late in last night’s loss to Los Angeles and will be unavailable for Friday night’s elimination game against Sacramento. Williamson scored 40 points against the Lakers, but it wasn’t enough and New Orleans must beat the Kings to get into the Western Conference playoffs.

Suspended LSU running back Trey Holly pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to a felony gun charge he faces from a shooting that wounded two people in Farmerville on February 15th. Holly’s attorney Mike Small expects his client will be cleared of all charges.

LSU Coach Brian Kelly expressed optimism earlier this month that Holly’s legal issues could be wrapped up soon. But Holly’s next court date is not until July 3rd.

The Pelicans fought hard last night but came up short and lost to the Lakers 110 to 106. New Orleans will need to beat Sacramento on Friday to keep its season alive. The Pels trailed by 18 points in the third quarter, but Zion Williamson led a big-time comeback, scoring 40 points. But after scoring his 40th point with 3 minutes and 19- seconds left to play, he left the game with an injury and the Lakers outscored New Orleans 15 to 11 the rest of the way. Coach Willie Greene said after the game Williamson had left leg soreness.

The 14th-ranked Cajuns baseball team scored 12 runs in the first three innings and beat Southeastern Louisiana 15 to 7. Trey LaFleur homered and drove in five runs. Same two teams tonight, but in Hammond.

The Tigers doubled up UNO six to three. Jared Jones, Hayden Travinski, and Brady Neal all homered.

Louisiana Tech baseball got back in the win column last night with a six to two win over ULM. Cole McConnell had a two run homer.

The seventh-ranked LSU softball team defeated 25th-ranked U-L Lafayette four to two. Ciara Briggs’ two-run single in the fourth inning was the difference.

Back to the LSU baseball team, the Tigers are 3-12 in the SEC and they will begin a series at Missouri on Friday. LSU will likely need to go 10-5 in the second half of SEC play in order to make the SEC Tournament. Teddy Cahill with Baseball America says the Tigers are better than their SEC record…

LSU star Angel Reese is now a member of the Chicago Sky. Chicago selected Reese with the seventh overall pick in the WNBA draft. Reese led LSU to its first national championship in women’s basketball in 2023 and this past season she was named the SEC Player of the Year. The All-American could have returned to LSU for one more season, but Reese says she’s ready for a new challenge…

The NBA Playoffs begin tonight and Pelicans host the Lakers and the winner is the seventh seed in the Western Conference playoffs. L-A beat New Orleans on Sunday and the Lakers dominated the Pels in the paint outscoring them 50-12 in the first half. Can’t let that happen again Tip time is at 6:30.

The spring transfer portal opens today in college football. LSU is looking for defensive tackles. They already have a commitment from Wisconsin defensive tackle Gio Paez.

Alexandria Senior high running back J-T Lindsey has committed to LSU. His verbal pledge gives the Tigers two running backs in the Class of 2025. The other is five-star recruit Harlem Berry from St. Martin’s in Metairie.

After losing their fifth consecutive SEC Baseball series, the LSU Tigers host UNO tonight. LSU will be back on the road this weekend at Missouri.

Expect Brandon Ingram to play more tonight after playing 23 minutes on Sunday in his first game back in 3 1/2 weeks. Also Green wants a more aggressive Zion Williamson after scoring just 12 points on Sunday.

Former LSU star Angel Reese is now a member of the Chicago Sky in the WNBA. Reese was the seventh overall pick in last night’s draft and Caitlin Clark will be a division rival as she went number one overall to the Indiana Fever.

The Ragin Cajuns moved up to number 14 in the D-1 baseball poll after sweeping Marshall and increasing their winning streak in Sun Belt play to 14 in a row. Coach Matt Deggs says his guys continue to play the game the right way…

The Ragin Cajuns host Southeastern Louisiana tonight. U-L Lafayette’s R-P-I is 55.

Despite a 3-and-12 record in the SEC, LSU has an R-P-I of 51. Tonight, the Tigers will host U-N-O. The Privateers are 21-and-14 and Mitchell Sanford has 11 home runs and 47 runs driven in. First pitch is at 6:30.

Also tonight, Louisiana Tech is at ULM. The Warhawks are coming off a series win over Texas State, while the Bulldogs were swept by Arizona.

The LSU Tigers Spring Game saw the Tigers struggle defensively as receivers were left wide open. Head coach Brian Kelly says figuring out the starting cornerbacks and adding defensive tackles are top priorities in fixing the Tigers defensive problems.

LSU will open next season against USC on September 1st in Las Vegas.

The Eagles have signed Devonta Smith to a three-year, 75 million dollar contract extension. The Amite native and Heisman Trophy Winner at Alabama has 240 receptions in his three seasons in the NFL.

LSU baseball is now 3 and 12 in SEC play after getting swept at Tennessee over the weekend. The Tigers bullpen gave up six runs from the sixth to the eighth innings. Aiden Moffett suffered the loss and Gavin Guidry allowed a three run homer.

The UL-Lafayette baseball team have now won 14 Sun Belt games in a row after defeating Marshall yesterday 2 to 0. Ragin Cajun pitcher Carson Fluno pitched a no hitter into the 8th inning and UL-Lafayette infielder Duncan Pastore had three hits. D-1 Baseball has the Cajuns ranked 14 in the country.

The Pelicans finished in seventh place in the Western Conference after losing to the Lakers 124 to 108 last night. Lebron James had a triple-double. New Orleans will play the Lakers again tomorrow night in a play-in tournament game. Pelicans power forward Zion Williamson says that they need to regroup for the playoffs.

The defending national champion LSU Tigers are now 3-12 in the SEC after they were swept at Tennessee this past weekend. It was the Tigers bullpen that struggled yesterday in an eight to four loss. Cam Johnson gave up a couple of runs, Gavin Guidry allowed a three-run homer and Kade Anderson was also touched for two runs. The Tigers host UNO tomorrow.

The 19th ranked Ragin Cajuns baseball team won their 14th straight Sun Belt game on Sunday as they blanked Marshall two to nothing. Carson Fluno carried a no hitter into the eighth inning. The 14 straight conference wins ties a Sun Belt record. The Cajuns host Southeastern on Tuesday.

ULM took two of three from Texas State, but lost the series finale 13 to 11. Arizona swept Louisiana Tech out in Tuscon. Southern swept Grambling in a three game series and the Jaguars are now tied with Texas Southern for first place in the SWAC Western Division. Lamar leads the Southland after sweeping the Southeastern Lions.

LSU’s spring game featured what we saw in 2023, receivers wide-open. Garrett Nussmeier threw two touchdown passes, receivers Zavion Thomas and Kyren Lacy were both wide open. Coach Brian Kelly says the defense is still a work in progress

LSU came out of spring practice without suffering any major injuries.

Disappointing game for the Pelicans yesterday as the were blown out by the Lakers 124 to 108 in the regular season finale. The defeat sends New Orleans to the play-in game where they’ll play the Lakers for the seventh seed in the Western Conference Playoffs.

W-N-B-A draft is tonight, Angel Reese is expected to be selected in the first round.

Another frustrating loss for LSU baseball last night as they fell to Tennessee six to three. Tommy White had three hits, but the Tigers left ten runners on base. Gage Jump suffered the loss as he allowed five runs over four innings. He walked four hitters. Game two is today at 4:30.

The 19th ranked Ragin Cajuns won their 12th straight Sun Belt game beating Marshall three to one. Lee Amedee and Conor Higgs hit solo home runs and Andrew Herrmann and LP Langevin combined on a five-hitter and struckout 12. Game two is at two PM.

ULM defeated Texas State Seven to five. Easton Winfield had three hits and drove in two runs. Brandon Brewer was the winning pitcher and Carson Orton got the save.

Louisiana Tech had just three hits in a nine to one loss to Arizona.

Balin Valentine hit a two-run home run in the tenth inning as Northwestern State defeated Nicholls seven to five in ten innings. Southeastern and McNeese lost.

Today is the spring game for the LSU Tigers. It was a disastrous season on defense for the Tigers last season, but Coach Brian Kelly likes what he has seen this spring from the defensive backs…

Kelly has spoken highly of Sage Ryan, Major Burns and Jardin Gilbert this spring.

CJ McCollum had another hot shooting night last night and the Pelicans defeated Golden State 114 to 109. McCollum hit eight three-pointers and finished with 28 points. The win completed a 4-and-0 road trip and New Orleans will host the Lakers on Sunday in the regular season finale. The Pels need a win or a Suns loss to the Timberwolves to secure the sixth seed in the Western Conference playoffs. Tip time Sunday is at 2:30.

The LSU baseball team beat Tennessee twice in the College World Series last year and would love to get two wins against the Vols this weekend in a three-game series that begins tonight in Knoxville. Tennessee is ranked 4th and they are 7-5 in SEC play, while the Tigers are 3-and-9. 6:30 first pitch.

19th ranked U-L Lafayette hosts Marshall. The Cajuns have won eleven straight Sun Belt games, while the Thundering Herd are five and seven in league play.

ULM, who was swept last weekend by the Cajuns, is home this weekend to take on Texas State. The Bobcats are 5-and-7 in the Sun Belt.

Louisiana Tech is at Arizona for a three game series. The Wildcats are 18-and-13 and they are on an eight game winning streak.

It’s the final weekend of the NBA regular season, A Pelicans win tonight over Golden State and a Suns loss to the Kings and New Orleans will clinch the sixth seed in the West and avoid the Play in Tournament.

LSU will hold its spring game on Saturday. The offense will take on the defense, but don’t expect the top players to get a ton of snaps. Coach Brian Kelly says Saturday will be a day for back-ups to showcase their talents, like reserve tight ends Mac Markway and Ka’Morreun Pimpton. Kelly says this also a chance to see Josh Williams and Kaleb Jackson carry the ball…

The Saints have signed former Texas A-and-M and Minnesota Viking quarterback Kellen Mond.

Shreveport’s Sam Burns will not make the cut a the Masters. Burns shot an 80 on Thursday and then a 73 today and he’s at 9 over. The projected cut line is four over.

The Pelicans defeated Sacramento 135 to 123 last night. New Orleans made 22 three-pointers. CJ McCollum made nine threes and finished with 31 points. Zion Williamson also had 31 as the Pels remain in control of occupying the sixth seed in the Western Conference playoffs and avoid the play-in tournament. New Orleans is at Golden State tonight.

LSU coach Kim Mulkey gave an emotional speech at the team’s banquet last night. Mulkey says she’s emotional as the program has been in the headlines for a variety of reasons, including not being present for the national anthem before their Elite Eight loss to Iowa. And LSU has lost another player to transfer portal, Jenae Kent.

The LSU football team will conclude spring practice with a spring game on Saturday. Coach Brian Kelly is entering his third season in Tiger Town and he feels good about the talent and depth on the 2024 team. LSU struggled defensively last year as they tried to plug holes with incoming transfers. He says this year there’s more carryover from the 2023 squad…

Kelly says the spring game will be the offense versus the defense.

The Saints have signed another back-up quarterback. Kellen Mond joins Q-B room that has Derek Carr, Jake Haener and Nathan Peterman. Mond is a former Texas A-and-M Aggie and was drafted by the Vikings in 2021. New Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak was the offensive coordinator Minnesota that season.
