Louisiana Tech has made it to the NCAA Baseball Tournament for a 11th time as the Bulldogs will compete in the Fayeteville Regional, hosted by Arkansas, who is a number five national seed. The Diamond Dogs will will face Kansas State at 7 PM. The Wildcats are 32-and-24 this year.

Tulane and Nicholls are both headed to the same regional and they will play in Corvallis, Oregon. The Coloens are the three-seed and will take on U-C Irvine. The Green Wave are the number one seed and they’ll play Oregon State.

And Grambling is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010 and they’ll play Texas A-and-M in the College Station Regional at noon on Friday.

In football, at the close of spring practice, LSU Coach Brian Kelly said he may add a punter in the transfer portal as he was not happy with Peyton Todd’s lack of consistency. Louisiana Tech punter Blake Ochsendorf has announced he plans on transferring to LSU. Ochsendorf led Conference USA in punting average last season.

The LSU Baseball team will travel to North Carolina this weekend for a Regional at Chapel Hill, hosted by the Tar Heels, who are seeded fourth nationally. Louisiana Tech had a great run in the Conference USA Tournament, but lost in the championship game to Dallas Baptist 17 to 10. The Bulldogs could also be a two seed in the NCAA Regional. The Ragin Cajuns could also be a two-seed.

Grambling State has won its first SWAC Championship since 2010 with a dramatic victory over Jackson State. The Tigers were down by a run in the ninth inning. Trevor Hatton’s RBI single tied the game and the winning run scored on a throwing error.

Tulane and Nicholls are back in the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year. The Colonels clobbered McNeese 15 to 1 for the Southland Tournament title. Basiel Williams was named tournament MVP. Williams hit a game tying home run in the ninth on Thursday and a walk-off homer against Southeastern on Friday.

Tulane left fielder Jakcson Linn hit a 433-foot home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Green Wave an 11 to 10 win over Wichita State. Tulane entered the tournament as a three-seed.

And the LSU softball team’s season ended last night with a eight to nothing defeat to Stanford. The Tigers won the first game of the series 11 to 1, but failed to score a run on Saturday or last night. LSU ends with a 44-17 record.

It will be LSU and South Carolina again today in the SEC Tournament. The Gamecocks eliminated Kentucky six to five to set up a rematch of Thursday night’s thriller won by the Tigers 11 to 10. First pitch is at noon.

The other semifinal matchup in the SEC Tournament will be Tennessee versus Vanderbilt. The Volunteers avoided elimination by rallying to beat Mississippi State six to five.

LSU is seeking its 13th SEC Tournament Championship and trying to secure a two-seed at someone’s Regional.

Louisiana Tech will get another shot at Liberty today after losing to the Flames six to two in a winner’s bracket game during the day on Friday. The Bulldogs returned to J-C Love Field last night and eliminated Sam Houston five to three. Lead off man Dalton Davis hit two home runs and Ethan Bates earned his nation-leading 16th save. First pitch today in Ruston is at 12:30.

LSU softball is one win away from returning to the Women’s College World Series after stomping Stanford 11 to 1 last night. The Tigers got to the nation’s best pitcher by scoring three runs in the first inning and then they chased NiJaree Canady during an eight-run fifth inning. LSU got a season-high 16 hits and they hit three home runs, Ali Newland, Maci Bergeron and Kelley Lynch hit a grand slam. Tonight’s game is at 8 PM.

Nicholls is one win away from winning the Southland Tournament Championship as the Colonels eliminated Southeastern Louisiana four to three on Basiel Williams’ walk-off home run. The Colonels will play the winner of today’s game between Lamar and McNeese.

The drama between the Saints and the Louisiana Sports and Exposition Distirct over late payments for the renovation costs for the Superdome appears to be over. We learned earlier this week that the NFL franchise was 11 million dollars behind, but the Saints have reportedly made that 11 million dollar payment.

LSU legend Seimone Augustus was introduced yesterday as the Lady Tigers newest assistant women’s basketball coach. Augustus led the Lady Tigers to three straight final-four appearances and won four WNBA championships. She’s been thinking about diving into the coaching profession and an opening on Kim Mulkey’s staff gave her an opportunity at home…

There were a bunch of heroes in LSU’s wild 11 to 10 win over South Carolina last night. Michael Braswell had the game winning hit, Steven Milam had four hits, Fidel Ulloa was the winning pitcher as he kept the Gamecocks off the scoreboard as the Tigers rallied from a late ten to seven deficit.

Alex Milazzo had a couple of nice defensive plays, so did Jared Jones. Jones also hit 23rd home run of the season. Centerfielder Jake Brown got a rare start and had three hits and hit third home run of the season. Coach Jay Johnson says he never lost faith in the Sulphur native…

The Ragin Cajuns will not play again until next week. They were bounced from the Sun Belt Tournament, losing both of their games. Yesterday they failed to hold on to a seven to one lead and lost ten to nine to James Madison.

Louisiana Tech plays Liberty at 12:30 today. The winner advances to the semifinals of the Conference USA Tournament, the loser has to play tonight.

In the Southland Tourney…McNeese and Nicholls are both 2-0. The Colonels defeated Southeastern five to four in ten innings.

In the SWAC Tournament, Grambling lost to Florida A-and-M 17-7. The Tigers will try to get keep its season alive when they face Alabama State at noon.

LSU will try to improve to 3-and-0 in the SEC Tournament as they will face South Carolina in a winner’s bracket game. The Tigers have scored 20 runs in victories over Georgia and Kentucky. We’ll see if they can keep the bats going as the Tigers have won five straight SEC games. Thatcher Hurd is set to get the start on the mound for the Tigers. He’s struggled this season with a 2-and-4 record and a 6.49 ERA.

Earlier today in the SEC Tournament,. Kentucky eliminated Arkansas nine to six. So if the Tigers lose today, they’ll play the Wildcats tomorrow.

The top seeded Ragin Cajuns have been eliminated from the Sun Belt Tournament after losing to James Madison Ten to nine. U-L Lafayette took a seven to one lead with seven runs in the second inning, but the Dukes responded with a sixth run seventh inning to take the lead. L-P Langevin gave up three runs in 2.1 innings. The Cajuns will find out their postseason destination at 11 AM on Monday.

Strong storms forced Louisiana Tech off the field last night, three outs away from a victory over Middle Tennessee in the opening round of the Conference USA Tournament. The game resumed at 9 AM and it only took four and a half minutes for the Bulldogs to finish of their eight to two win over Middle Tennessee. Reed Smith was the winner pitcher and Grant Comeaux went four for four with 3 RBIs. The Bulldogs next game is Friday at 12:30. Coach Lane Burroughs….

At the Southland Tournament…UNO avoided elimination with a seven to four win over Texas A-and-M Corpus Christi. Lamar eliminated Northwestern State, beating the Demons 12 to 5.

Southern was also eliminated in the SWAC Tournament. Grambling plays Florida A-and-M in a SWAC winner’s bracket game tonight in Atlanta.

The LSU Tigers took down one of the best teams in college baseball yesterday to advance into the winner’s bracket of the SEC Tournament. Jared Jones and Tommy White each hit grand slams as the Tigers blanked Kentucky eleven to nothing. Michael Braswell started the scoring with a solo home run on the third pitch of the game and scored three times. Coach Jay Johnson says Braswell is playing to his potential…

Reed Smith pitched six innings for his seventh win and Grant Comeaux was four-for-four at the plate and drove in three runs. Tech will play tomorrow at around 12:30 against the winner of today’s game between Sam Houston and Liberty.

The Ragin Cajuns need to win today to stay alive in the Sun Belt Tournament. U-L Lafayette lost Old Dominion seven to three yesterday. They’ll play James Madison this afternoon in an elimination game.

And Lamar eliminated Northwestern State from the southland Tourney.
