Today in Shreveport, the annual the governor’s on conference Juvenile Justice gets underway. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office has ruled the death of an infant left in the backseat of a car last month as an accident. The child was in the vehicle for the entire day. The parent told deputies they planned to drop the toddler off at daycare and didn’t realize the child was in the vehicle until the parent went to the day care facility to pick up the child.

15-hundred AT&T workers in Louisiana are on strike accusing the company of unfair labor practices during contract negotiations. They are among the more than 17-thousand AT-and-T workers in nine states that have walked off the job. Kelly was arrested and transported to the Bossier Maximum-Security Facility where he was booked. An arrest warrant for Aggravated Criminal Property Damage is pending for Hughes upon his release from the Hospital and Kelly’s bond has been set at $305,000.

Public school enrollment in Louisiana has decreased for the 2024-25 academic year, according to a recent report from the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana (PAR) by five percent. The reduction in enrollment poses challenges for the state’s education system, particularly in terms of funding. Public schools on average has been spending more now than in 2019. PAR President Steve Procopio says that’s not a major issue now.
