The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in finding the shooter who killed a 7-year-old boy in Baton Rouge Saturday night. Terrez Coleman and his family were driving home from a family reunion when a shot was fired into their car by a passing vehicle. Terrez was shot in the heart and one of his sisters was grazed by the bullet. Officials have released an image of the car that is possibly connected to the shooting.

The Department of Agriculture and Forestry says the former volunteer firefighter from Longville is getting five years at hard labor for setting wildfires on purpose in woods near the fire station where he worked. According to a release Brandon Lee Harris told investigators he committed the three arson blazes near the start of the year because of the excitement of fighting fires.

The National Hurricane Center has issued an update on the tropical disturbance forming in the Atlantic. They say Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for development during the next day or so and a tropical depression could form while the system moves west north-westward. Calcasieu Parish Authorities say a 60-year-old woman died in an apartment complex fire in Iowa Wednesday morning. They say no one else was injured in the blaze. Cause of the fire is under investigation but it’s thought to be electrical in nature.
