Cleco announces a new two year, 130-million dollar project to improve customer service and it will also help stimulate the economy. Spokesperson Jennifer Cahill says they are calling it the START program and it will create 221 jobs, as they will replace Cleco’s core technology of multiple systems with one primary system.

Dixon says Thompson was arrested early Wednesday morning at the Hyatt Hotel attached to the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The police chief is asking for the public’s help to figure out why he shot these kids at a home in Lake Charles…

Thompson was sentenced in the 1990s to 99 years in prison for armed robbery and other offenses. He was paroled last year. St. Bernard Parish authorities say a 56-year-old man attacked his ex-wife with an ax as she left her home for work this morning, killing her. 48-year-old Kimberly Owens suffered fatal injuries as her mother watched from the home. The sheriff says Kimberly Owens had a restraining order against Mark Owens, who turned himself in.

Shreveport police detectives are trying to determine who fatally stabbed an 82-year-old woman who lived alone. Kathleen Cates was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Corporal Marcus Hines says whoever did this, deserves to be punished to the fullest extent of the law….
